According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 462 trucks from Orange EV are impacted.

What Units Are Affected

The recall covers several models commonly used in yard operations:

• 2022 to 2023 T Series Pure Electric Terminal Trucks
• 2023 to 2025 e TRIEVER models
• 2023 to 2026 HUSK e terminal trucks

These trucks are widely used for moving trailers in tight yard environments, where reliability and safety are critical for both drivers and ground personnel.

What the Issue Is

The concern centers around the optional foldaway training seat. In certain conditions, the seat may fail.

Because of that, the affected trucks do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard requirements for seating systems and seat belt anchorages. That creates a potential safety risk anytime the training seat is in use.

What Drivers and Fleets Should Do Now

Until a fix is available, owners are being told to limit use of the training seat.

For drivers and yard operators, this is a reminder to double-check equipment before use, especially when training or running with a second person in the cab. Fleets may also want to review internal safety procedures to make sure teams are aware of the issue.

What Happens Next

A repair solution is still being developed. In the meantime:

• Interim notification letters are expected to be mailed by April 24
• A second notice will go out once the fix is ready

The funeral procession took place on January 21 in Patterson, Louisiana, for Garland Joseph Romero, nicknamed TeBoy, who passed away at the age of 68 due to complications caused by COVID-19.

Romero was a veteran of the Army National Guard and spend more than four decades as a cattleman and oilfield trucking company owner.

On December 23 and 24, police officers across Ohio organized nighttime convoys of hundreds of vehicles as part of “Operation Santa Sleigh 2020,” an event meant to celebrate the holidays and lift the spirits of hospital patients.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the event took place across the state and included children’s hospitals in Akron, Cleveland, Dayton, Toledo, Cincinnati, and Columbus as well as two veteran’s homes in Georgetown and Sandusky.

Though the event was organized by police, truckers were able to get in on the festivities as well. Dayton-based Miller Specialized Transport said that they were asked to bring a couple of trucks to the event.

“When we asked our drivers for volunteers, every driver said yes, so we showed up with all the trucks. We are happy to be here with all the Police & Fire Departments along with tow companies from all over the state. There are hundreds of vehicles here, we hope the kids enjoyed it,” the company said.

The video was captured on westbound I-40 in Jefferson County, Tennessee, just moments after a crash that easily could have turned deadly. In the video, you can see the that driver pinned inside the cab of the red truck is somehow conscious and able to speak.

“I had been trying to pass him for a long time before this. This was my one opportunity to pass him that wouldn’t require me to hold up traffic because of the fact that my truck is only slightly faster than him. I had tried before (prior to these clips) to back off his tail and give him some room, but I still eventually got to the point where I was right behind him again…

If he ran into the construction zone, it would have been his own fault for not slowing down and yielding. His lane was ending, mine was not. He’s the one wanting to merge, and therefore it’s his responsibility to merge safely.
I will do everything I can to avoid a collision. But I’m not going to be a pushover when someone’s lane is ending and he doesn’t have the decency to recognize I’m not going to let him over to slow down.”
