Do you want a workplace where the culture celebrates excellence, a friendly atmosphere, and offers flexibility?
At On Time Logistics, that’s what people say they love most about working with us.
Our people are the key to our success. Without our drivers, couriers, and dispatchers, we would be unable to serve our customers from our locations in Northwest Arkansas, Tulsa, and Little Rock.
As the economy changes and grows, especially in the world of e-commerce and residential home delivery, we find that the need for both independent contract couriers and full-time delivery drivers is growing.
Working as an independent contractor vs a delivery driver has several differences and below we explain both options to help you decide which is the best position to apply for at On Time Logistics.
As a contract courier, you are a self-employed, independent contractor which means you are running your own business! We would be hiring you, and the use of your vehicle, to make our courier deliveries. You pick your schedule and, to some degree, how much you work.
Contract couriers are paid a percentage (commission) of each delivery. Deductions from that payout may be taken for uniform charges, communications equipment, or other circumstances. Because you are self-employed, you will be required to pay your own income taxes. However, some expenses, such as vehicle-related costs, may be tax-deductible. It is important to keep all your receipts and record of payments as this information will be needed to complete your income tax return at the end of the year.
We are affiliated with Open Force, which processes your settlement for a nominal fee; they will provide you with Occupational Accident Insurance along with other helpful resources.
As a delivery driver, you would be an employee of On Time Logistics and would usually have regular routes for your deliveries. You would also be driving our branded trucks and would, in most cases, be working as a part of a delivery team. Most of our residential last-mile deliveries are furniture and other medium-to-large items so deliveries require two people to make the deliveries.
All delivery drivers must have a DOT medical card as well as the other general requirements.
