Live Life Healthy (LLH) has announced a partnership with Road Dog Care Company, integrating Road Dog into its Zero-Copay Supplemental Healthcare Ecosystem as the official tangible employee care partner.

“Logistics companies operate in one of the most demanding workforce environments in the country,” said Zachary Rogers, CEO of LLH. “As we expand in this vertical, it was critical that we add a tangible layer to our Zero-Copay Ecosystem. Road Dog Care brings practical, high-utility care solutions that complement our healthcare strategy, ensuring we are supporting the people who power modern logistics in a way that is financially beneficial for everyone involved.”

Healthcare Designed for Trucking and Logistics

This collaboration represents a key step in LLH’s growth within the transportation sector, delivering healthcare solutions designed to be high-impact while financially positive for both employers and employees.

“The partnership reinforces LLH Healthcare’s position as an innovative leader in payroll-integrated healthcare by incorporating physical components into its comprehensive medical platform,” LLH said. “By integrating Road Dog’s care products, LLH allows transportation employers to offer a fully managed solution that supports employee health and driver retention without adding net-new costs to the company.”

Supporting Drivers and the Entire Workforce

LLH’s approach combines program compliance, advanced technology, and payroll integration to provide healthcare with minimal out-of-pocket expenses for drivers, warehouse staff, mechanics, operations teams, and administrative employees. “By incorporating Road Dog’s well-being care products, LLH extends its impact beyond medical services into everyday physical support,” the company stated.

What the Platform Offers

Key elements of the integrated platform include:

A Zero-Copay Supplemental Healthcare Ecosystem covering employees and their households.

Net-positive financial impact for employers and the workforce alike.

Proactive health engagement through a unified, seamless platform.

Tangible care products designed for the physical demands of transportation work.

“In logistics and transportation, performance is a daily physical and mental challenge,” said Rich Fredricksen, CEO of Road Dog Care Company. “LLH is redefining how healthcare benefits work in this industry. By bringing tangible care products into their Zero-Copay Ecosystem, they’re helping employers reinforce performance and retention through everyday support.”

This partnership positions LLH Healthcare as a distinct solution in the transportation marketplace, enabling carriers and logistics operators to consolidate healthcare, workforce engagement, and driver well-being in a single platform that drives financial growth and improves employee satisfaction.

Even with tight margins, rising costs, and ongoing operational strain, some fleets continue to prove that driver-focused workplaces are not only possible but sustainable.

Those fleets were recently recognized in the 2026 Best Fleets to Drive For program, an annual initiative that highlights for-hire trucking companies across North America that deliver strong workplace experiences for both company drivers and independent contractors.

Now in its 18th year, the program once again shows that clarity, consistency, and everyday follow-through matter just as much as pay and equipment when it comes to building fleets people want to stay with.

Strong Cultures in a Tough Operating Year

According to the announcement accompanying the 2026 results, this year’s recognized fleets stood out by maintaining operational focus despite a difficult environment.

“Demonstrating that operational clarity, consistency, and practical engagement strategies remain critical to sustaining strong fleet cultures.”

That theme carried through the entire list of honorees, many of whom navigated cost pressures while still prioritizing communication, professional development, and work-life balance.

“This was a demanding year for fleets across the industry,” said CarriersEdge CEO Jane Jazrawy in a news release.

“The fleets recognized in the 2026 Best Fleets programs distinguish themselves not by avoiding challenges, but by responding thoughtfully to them.

“Through clear communication and cost-conscious, driver-focused approaches, this year’s Top 20 and Hall of Fame fleets showed that strong cultures can be sustained even in difficult conditions.”

What Fleets Are Measured On

Participation in the Best Fleets program starts with a nomination from someone currently working with the company. To be eligible, for-hire operations must run at least 10 tractor-trailers.

From there, fleets are evaluated across multiple categories, including:

Compensation and benefits

Human resources strategies

Professional development opportunities

Day-to-day operations

Work-life balance practices

Driver and contractor surveys also play a major role, providing direct feedback that helps shape final rankings.

New Faces and Returning Standouts in 2026

This year’s results brought noticeable movement. Four fleets entered the Top 20 for the first time, and one new operation reached Hall of Fame status. At the same time, eight Hall of Fame fleets successfully requalified, continuing their long-term track records.

2026 Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive For

America’s Service Line – Green Bay, Wisconsin

Hall of Fame Continues to Grow

Introduced in 2022, the Hall of Fame recognizes fleets that deliver sustained excellence over time. Qualification requires either 10 consecutive years as a Best Fleet or seven total years with at least one overall award. All Hall of Fame fleets must requalify annually.

A new fleet joined the Hall of Fame in 2026:

Challenger Motor Freight – Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Returning Hall of Fame fleets include:

Fleets to Watch

In addition to the Top 20 and Hall of Fame, five operations earned “Fleets to Watch” recognition for strong performance and potential:

Arlo G. Lott Trucking – Jerome, Idaho

Erb Transport Limited – New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada

GP Transco – Joliet, Illinois

Quality Carriers Inc. – Tampa, Florida

USXL – Foristell, Missouri

Overall Winners Coming in March

From the Top 20 list, two overall winners will be announced in March, recognizing large and small fleet categories. The announcements will take place during the Best Fleets Education & Awards Conference on March 16–17, 2026, at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The event will also feature the presentation of the Stratosphere Award, honoring the highest-scoring Hall of Fame fleet, along with a detailed breakdown of data gathered during this year’s program. Attendees can expect insights into retention trends, operational practices, and programs that are working across today’s fleets.

As conditions remain challenging across trucking, the 2026 Best Fleets list highlights a consistent takeaway: when leadership stays focused on communication, structure, and respect for the job, strong fleet cultures can hold steady even in uncertain times.

Strong partnerships between trucking companies and drivers are essential for safety retention and operational success. Truck Drivers USA, as a trusted leader in connecting drivers with the right opportunities, emphasizes proven strategies that build these lasting relationships through data-driven insights and industry expertise.

Understanding and Responding to Driver Needs

Driver feedback consistently ranks stable schedules, fair compensation, and career growth as critical. For example, fleets offering flexible schedules and guaranteed home time report up to 25% higher driver retention. Listening closely and adjusting policies accordingly builds trust and loyalty.

Providing Consistent and Meaningful Recognition

Recognition programs like driver-of-the-month awards, shout-outs for safe driving, and personalized thank-you notes foster a positive work environment. One fleet saw a 15% drop in turnover after launching regular driver appreciation initiatives, highlighting their impact.

Prioritizing Safety and Development

Regular safety meetings, ongoing training, and investing in safety technology reduce incidents significantly. Trucking companies using advanced dashcams reported 40% fewer accidents, improving driver confidence and company reputation.

Leveraging Data and Technology to Enhance Communication

Digital platforms for real-time updates and feedback solicitations enable swift resolution of issues and operational alignment. Fleet managers who adopt these tools experience better driver engagement and fewer compliance problems.

Supporting Work-Life Balance with Flexible Scheduling and Wellness Programs

Considering the demanding lifestyle, flexible scheduling paired with wellness initiatives, including mental health resources and ergonomic equipment, reduces burnout. Studies show that fleets prioritizing mental health have a 20% increase in driver satisfaction.

Investing in Leadership Development

Training managers in empathy and communication skills creates a respectful, trusting culture. Empathetic leadership correlates with improved driver retention rates and smoother conflict resolution.

For example, one fleet implemented weekly one-on-one check-ins and saw a 30% decrease in voluntary turnover within six months.

Another company introduced a peer recognition program, boosting driver morale and reducing complaints related to management.

A large carrier invested in a transportation management system, resulting in streamlined communication that cut driver dissatisfaction by nearly half.

Truck Drivers USA combines frontline industry knowledge with these validated, actionable strategies to set the standard for building enduring company-driver partnerships. Fleets implementing these real-world practices achieve safer roads, higher retention, and stronger business outcomes grounded in genuine expertise.

The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) has published a pivotal report that delves deeply into changing trends within the U.S. truck driver workforce. Their latest research not only pinpoints evolving demographics but also offers actionable pathways for fleets aiming to boost driver recruitment and retention.

“As the trucking industry grapples with an aging workforce and continued demand for drivers, this research underscores the need to embrace evolving demographics,”
said Amanda Schuier, Jetco Delivery strategic maintenance director.
“By broadening recruitment efforts, fleets can tap into new talent pools to not only strengthen driver recruitment and retention, but also address critical workforce challenges by creating sustainable pathways into trucking careers.”

Key Insights From the Research

Changing Face of the Truck Driver Workforce

ATRI’s research outlines a significant demographic transition among U.S. truck drivers, driven by broader societal and workforce trends.

The study is split into two major areas:

A chronological analysis of shifts in driver demographics over time.

A look at how former foster youth and justice-involved individuals can find sustainable trucking career pathways.

Industry Challenges

“The report offers a comprehensive analysis of the industry’s most pressing workforce challenges, including an aging driver population, low female representation — women currently comprise just 4.1 percent of truck drivers — and shifting employment models,” ATRI stated.

With the average truck driver age reaching 47, and rising retirements shrinking the labor pool, recruitment must adapt to appeal to a younger generation.

Outdated messaging and narrow recruitment can hinder efforts to bring in much-needed talent, especially as older drivers leave the workforce at an accelerated rate.

Opportunities for Expanding Access

ATRI’s findings identify valuable opportunities to diversify and strengthen the industry’s future by targeting historically underrepresented groups.

“These groups may face unique challenges, but with the right support, trucking can offer a stable and rewarding career path,” ATRI said.
“The research encourages carriers to adopt targeted outreach, training pipelines, and reentry support, while implementing hiring practices that assess each candidate’s circumstances and readiness on a case-by-case basis.”

For comprehensive details and actionable insights, the full ATRI report is available here.
