The Truckload Carriers Association has announced the division winners for its 2025 Fleet Safety Awards, marking the 50th year of the long running safety recognition program.

A total of 18 truckload carriers were selected across six mileage-based divisions. The awards recognize fleets with the lowest accident frequency ratios per million miles, highlighting carriers that consistently demonstrate strong safety performance and operational discipline.

The annual competition is sponsored by Great West Casualty Co. and Arthur J. Gallagher.

What the Fleet Safety Awards Measure

TCA’s Fleet Safety Awards focus on measurable safety outcomes rather than subjective criteria. Carriers are evaluated based on accident frequency ratios calculated per million miles traveled. Winners are determined within mileage categories to ensure fair comparisons between fleets of different sizes.

“We’re proud to support TCA’s Fleet Safety Awards and the carriers recognized this year,” said Andy Engardio, transportation vertical leader at Arthur J. Gallagher.

“These companies are investing in their drivers, prioritizing safe operations and holding themselves accountable every day,” he continued. “We congratulate this year’s winners and appreciate TCA’s continued leadership in promoting safer roads for everyone.”

Path to the Grand Prizes

Each of the 18 division winners is now eligible to compete for one of two overall Fleet Safety grand prizes. One award will be presented to a carrier operating fewer than 25 million miles annually, while the second will recognize a carrier with more than 25 million miles.

The grand prize winners will be announced during Truckload 2026, TCA’s Annual Convention, scheduled for February 28 through March 3 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

All division winners and grand prize recipients will also be formally recognized at TCA’s 2026 Safety and Security Meeting, set for June 7 through June 9 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Sponsor Perspective on Safety Leadership

“Great West Casualty Company is proud to sponsor the TCA Fleet Safety Awards, which recognize motor carriers for their dedication to a safety mindset and a culture of risk control,” said Steve Ponder, senior vice president at Great West Casualty Company.

“These motor carriers truly stand out across the trucking industry,” he continued. “The awards honor those who promote safety through meaningful investments in technology and training, and Great West Casualty Company is honored to recognize their achievements.”

Every driver knows how demanding tank work can be. From product handling to constant safety checks, it’s a job that requires discipline, patience, and the kind of awareness that only comes from experience behind the wheel. The National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC) organization has announced the eight drivers who stood out this year, naming them finalists for the 2025–2026 Professional Driver of the Year Champion award.

The program, sponsored by Great West Casualty Company, highlights tank haulers whose work reflects the highest standards in safety and professionalism. These finalists come from fleets across the country, each with their own story and years of earned expertise.

The 2025–2026 Finalists

NTTC named the following drivers as this year’s top contenders:

Bruce Jones – G&D Trucking, Inc. / Hoffman Transportation, LLC

Jarrod Alsobrooks – SWTO, LLC

Joseph Hafford – Kenan Advantage Group

Michael Key – Kenan Advantage Group

Jorge Hernandez – Certified Express, Inc.

Anthony Rocha – Foodliner

Scott Tempus – Quest Liner

Andrew Givens – ADM Trucking

One of these drivers will earn the title of Grand Champion when NTTC holds its Annual Conference in Baltimore from April 20 to 22, 2026.

What the Grand Champion Does

The driver selected as Grand Champion will take on a role that goes beyond day-to-day driving. NTTC relies on this individual to help share the industry’s message of safety and education across the country. Drivers often speak at events, represent the tank sector in national discussions, and help raise awareness about the level of skill and responsibility tank operations require.

For drivers out on the road, this recognition serves as a reminder that the industry still values safe habits, consistent professionalism, and the effort it takes to run tank loads the right way.

Truckload Carriers Association Recognizes Excellence in Safety with 18 Division Winners

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has officially announced the 18 division winners of its 49th Annual TCA Fleet Safety Awards. Sponsored by Great West Casualty Company and Assured Partners, the awards highlight motor carriers that have achieved exceptional safety performance within their divisions.

Recognition for Dedication to Roadway Safety

“Every year, these submissions and ratios are growing tighter and tighter as a testament to the programs and technology that motor carriers are using to improve upon their safety performance,” stated Dave Heller, TCA’s senior vice president of safety and government affairs. “Involvement in TCA and other industry associations have demonstrated and proven the very notion that there are no secrets in safety and our industry’s fundamental goal of eliminating fleet vehicle accidents and fatalities on our roadways is an objective that we are ultimately striving for. I congratulate these 18 motor carriers that have led the way this year and the tireless efforts of every motor carrier in our industry that constantly strives to improve upon their operations by continuously placing safety first.”

This annual recognition shines a spotlight on carriers that prioritize safety by maintaining the lowest accident frequency ratios per million miles traveled, divided into six mileage-based categories.

Road to Grand Prizes

The 18 winners are now eligible to compete for one of two prestigious grand prizes, which will recognize the safest carriers among different mileage brackets. One prize will honor carriers with under 25 million miles annually, while the other will be awarded to carriers surpassing that threshold.

The grand prize winners will be unveiled at Truckload 2025, TCA’s Annual Convention, happening from March 15-18, 2025, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Additionally, all winners will be celebrated at TCA’s 2025 Safety & Security Meeting, scheduled for June 8-10 in Louisville, Kentucky.
