Paperwork filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says about 97 units may have left the factory with a shift actuator that wasn’t calibrated the way it should be. That small error could keep the transmission from engaging reverse when needed.

The trucks in question were built between June 30 and September 18 of this year and come with Allison 1000 or 2000 automatic transmissions that use a stalk shifter.

International dealers will handle the fix at no cost, replacing the shift actuator input shaft on affected trucks. Owner notification letters are expected to start going out on December 1.

Drivers who believe their truck may be part of the recall can contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825 and reference recall number 25519. NHTSA lists it as recall 25V-702.

Even though the recall covers fewer than a hundred units, it’s still a good reminder for fleets and owner-operators to keep an eye out for any manufacturer notices. Staying on top of recalls like this helps prevent breakdowns and keeps rigs road-ready.
