• Albuquerque: $5,000 split between Lowell Elementary School and East San Jose Elementary School, plus $5,000 to UNM Children’s Hospital

Pattersonville is the 21st service area to reopen, and it’s the second of four sites undergoing major transformations as part of a significant $450 million private investment aimed at updating all 27 Thruway service areas.

The Pattersonville upgrade delivers enhanced facilities specifically for commercial truck drivers. The renovation saw a complete overhaul of the building’s interiors, including dining areas, restrooms, and seating arrangements. The new layout now features a variety of restaurants, revamped restrooms, two additional family assist restrooms, a dedicated nursing area, more seating options, and convenient access to electrical outlets and charging stations for electronics.

Facilities available for truck drivers include:

• A separate entryway

• A spacious lounge

• Shower facilities

• Dedicated restrooms

• Laundry facilities with washer and dryer

Dining options available are:

• Panera Bread (Operating Hours: 7 am – 8 pm, Daily)

• Chick-fil-A (Operating Hours: 8 am – 9 pm, Monday-Saturday)

• Starbucks (Drive-Thru) (Operating Hours: 5 am – 8 pm, Daily)

• Applegreen C-Store (Open 24/7)

Additional amenities include:

• Outdoor seating areas

• A designated dog walking area

• An adult changing station

• A private nursing room

• A digital tourism kiosk

The redevelopment of all 27 service areas is part of a $450 million public-private venture with Empire State Thruway Partners. Notably, this construction employs neither toll nor tax funds.
