The new travel stop sits off Exit 134 along Interstate 80 and adds 91 truck parking spaces in an area where overnight parking can become difficult to find during busy freight periods.

Love’s said the Joliet opening is part of the company’s continued nationwide expansion efforts. According to the company, 733 truck parking spaces have been added so far in 2026 through new store openings across the country.

The Joliet Travel Stop Adds Fuel, Parking, And Driver Services

The new Illinois location includes:

Nine diesel bays
Seven showers
Laundry facilities
CAT Scale access
Dog park
Self-checkout options
Fresh food prepared on site daily

A Hardee’s restaurant is also scheduled to open at the property on May 18.

The site additionally includes space designated for possible future EV charging infrastructure if commercial demand increases later.

Love’s said the reserved area would allow faster coordination with utility providers if charging stations are added in the future.

Love’s Recently Completed Updates At Its Florida Store

Along with the Joliet opening, Love’s has also recently completed a grand reopening project at its Auburndale, Florida, travel stop through the company’s Road Ahead Plan.

The Florida location received:

Renovated showers
Updated restrooms
Remodeled sales floor areas
General facility upgrades

Love’s says it has completed updates at 14 stores in 2026 while opening eight new locations during the same period.

Grand Opening Donations Were Also Announced

As part of the Joliet grand opening announcement, Love’s said it will donate:

$2,500 to the Greater Joliet Area YMCA
$2,500 to Trinity Services, Inc.
$5,000 to Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago

The company also announced a separate $5,000 donation to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg following the Auburndale reopening project.
