Last weekend, law enforcement officers from both Arkansas and Tennessee joined forces in a concerted effort to heighten public safety along the busy Interstate 40 corridor.

The Arkansas State Police (ASP) and the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) collaborated during this special operation, focusing on combatting issues such as violent offenses, impaired driving, drug movement, the illegal possession of firearms, and other related crimes.

“This operation is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of both ASP and the Tennessee Highway Patrol,” said ASP Col. Mike Hagar. “By working together, we not only removed dangerous individuals from our roadways but also strengthened the relationships between our agencies. I am extremely proud of our personnel and look forward to continued collaboration in the future.”

Spanning two nights, troopers from both departments made contact with more than 500 drivers, with the primary goal of promoting driver safety and identifying potentially dangerous offenders. The operation yielded the recovery of a stolen trailer, confiscation of illegal drugs—among them fentanyl, ecstasy, and marijuana—as well as unlawfully held firearms. Officers also served several outstanding warrants tied to aggravated robbery, firearm violations, assault, theft, and vandalism.
