The Best Fleets to Drive For Awards by CarriersEdge have officially opened nominations for their 17th annual edition. Until October 31st, company drivers and independent contractors can nominate their trucking companies at bf2df.com to be recognized as one of the best trucking companies in North America.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify, any for-hire fleet operating a minimum of 10 tractor-trailers in the U.S. or Canada, regardless of the freight segment, is eligible for nomination.

Nomination Process:

Once a company is nominated, they must complete a comprehensive questionnaire and interview covering their driver programs. Additionally, a selection of drivers will be surveyed to gain insights from their perspective. Both the company responses and driver surveys are evaluated to determine the Top 20 Best Fleets. These top fleets are then categorized into “small” and “large” fleet segments, with the highest scorer in each segment receiving the Best Overall Fleet award. The top performer in the Hall of Fame category will also be recognized.

Awards Ceremony:

The Best Fleets to Drive For Education & Awards Conference will host the recognition ceremony for the Top 20 Best Fleets, Best Overall Fleet winners, and Hall of Fame inductees on March 3-4 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Leadership Insights:

Jane Jazrawy, CEO of CarriersEdge, praised the industry’s resilience, stating, “Despite coming through some of the most challenging conditions the industry has seen in decades, fleets have managed not to lose sight of the importance of supporting their drivers. We’re excited to hear about the new, innovative ways companies are making a difference for their people.”

Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT) is thrilled to open the nominations for the 2024 HDT Truck Fleet Innovators Awards. This recognition celebrates the visionaries among trucking fleet executives who redefine the status quo, pioneer novel approaches, embrace early technology adoption, and lead the industry with avant-garde ideas within their departments or organizations.

These innovators may stand out for a specific groundbreaking initiative or for cultivating a corporate culture that encourages innovative thinking. What sets them apart is their willingness to share insights and inspiration with peers in the industry, fostering an environment of collaboration and progress.

The selected award winners will be prominently featured in a cover story in the May/June 2024 issue of HDT. To further honor their achievements, they will be invited as special guests at the Heavy Duty Trucking Exchange in Scottsdale, Arizona, from September 4-6. During the event, they will be presented with their well-deserved awards and participate in a panel discussion. In addition, HDT’s editors frequently seek the counsel of current and past Innovators for their valuable perspectives on industry issues throughout the year.

The deadline for submitting nominations for the HDT Truck Fleet Innovator awards is March 15, 2024. It’s the perfect opportunity to recognize and nominate individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the industry.

The eligibility also extends to mixed fleets that operate both heavy-duty and lighter-duty vehicles.

Nominees can be top-level executives or individuals overseeing specific departments, including equipment, maintenance, safety, drivers, sustainability/fuel economy, operations, IT, and more.

It’s important to note that industry suppliers are not eligible for the HDT Truck Fleet Innovator award, emphasizing the focus on recognizing excellence within the fleet management sector.

Truckload Carriers Association is seeking drivers who embody excellence in safety, leadership, and industry contribution. The chosen winners will receive a generous $20,000 prize, as well as recognition at TCA events and in publications throughout the year. Don’t miss this opportunity to honor the best in the business.

To nominate a deserving driver, visit www.tcaprofessionaldriversoftheyear.com. Winners will be announced at TCA’s Annual Convention in Nashville from March 23 to 26, 2024.

“We are thrilled with the success of the revamped TCA Professional Drivers of the Year awards program,” said TCA President Jim Ward. “We are proud to shine a spotlight on our industry’s incredible truck drivers who not only tirelessly deliver goods and keep our economy moving, but they also make amazing contributions within their communities and at home. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Loves and Cummins for their support, which has been instrumental in making this program possible throughout the years.”

“Every day, the Love’s Travel Stops’ team strives to make life on the road easier for professional truck drivers,” said Jon Archard, Love’s Travel Stops’ vice president of Fleet Sales. “These underappreciated heroes impact each and every one of us as they perform one of our country’s most demanding and important jobs. We are honored, once again, to recognize those drivers who set the highest standard for the industry mile after mile.”

José Samperio, vice president and general manager of the North American On-highway business for Cummins Inc. said, “Many truckers are responsible for more than just safely transporting the goods we rely upon in our daily lives. When they aren’t logging miles, they are also responsible for community involvement, peer leadership, and improving their respective company cultures. Cummins is honored to continue to support the TCA Professional Driver of the Year program that rewards those drivers who go above and beyond to make a positive difference in the world around them.”

The American Trucking Associations is currently accepting applications for their Diversity Equity and Inclusion Change Leader Award which celebrates those who are driving positive change in the industry.

“ATA is leading the charge to make the trucking industry more diverse, and part of that is recognizing carriers and companies that are doing their part to create welcoming, equitable workplaces for their employees,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear. “The Change Leader Award identifies industry leaders that are taking the important steps to provide equal opportunities from behind the wheel to the boardroom.”

The Diversity Equity and Inclusion Change Leader Award, presented by Tenstreet, is aimed at inspiring ATA members to establish or enhance their diversity equity and inclusion programs. Nominations are evaluated based on program development, improvement efforts, and the ability to foster a thriving culture of acceptance and inclusivity. In the previous year, ATA celebrated the achievements of nine outstanding companies dedicated to building diverse and equitable workplaces.

“It is our hope that by recognizing industry leaders and their commitment to diversity, this award will encourage other ATA members to follow suit to ensure all people regardless of gender or ethnicity have the opportunity to enjoy a career at all levels in our industry,” said Marilyn Surber, head of industry relations at Tenstreet.

To learn more about the ATA Diversity Equity and Inclusion Change Leader Award and seize the opportunity to apply, visit the official application page.
