HOLT Truck Centers is stepping up to support the next generation of diesel technicians. The company has donated five heavy-duty trucks to three schools in Oklahoma, aiming to provide students with hands-on experience using the equipment they’ll encounter in the workforce.

Two of these trucks were delivered to the Francis Tuttle Technology Center, marking the first of several presentations across the state.

A Commitment to Skilled Trades

“We are proud to support programs that are shaping the future of our skilled trades workforce,” said Robert Fulgium, senior vice president of HOLT Truck Centers. “At HOLT Truck Centers, we recognize the critical importance of providing students with access to industry-standard equipment, ensuring they graduate job-ready and confident in their abilities. Training on the latest tools and technologies will give students a competitive edge as they transition into the workforce.”

The donation reflects HOLT Truck Centers’ focus on education and workforce development, as well as their broader support of the skilled trades.

Where the Trucks Are Going

Francis Tuttle Technology Center and Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology each received two trucks, while Tulsa Tech received one. Each truck weighs more than 50,000 pounds and comes equipped with advanced systems to help students turn classroom lessons into practical skills.

Meeting the Need for More Technicians

The donation arrives at a critical moment for the industry. Baby boomers are retiring, and the demand for skilled diesel technicians is growing. The TechForce Foundation’s 2024 Technician Supply and Demand Report predicts the U.S. will need more than 249,000 new technicians by 2028.

HOLT Truck Centers’ contribution aims to help schools train more students, strengthening the pipeline of qualified professionals and ensuring service reliability across the country.

Hands-On Learning with Modern Technology

The trucks will be integrated into multiple training programs, giving students real-world experience with diesel technology, including hybrid and electric systems. By combining hands-on training with classroom instruction, students gain the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing industry.

Through this donation, HOLT Truck Centers is helping students prepare for careers and supporting communities by addressing the growing gap in skilled trades.
