]]> A driver for Frito-Lay won the Five-Axle category and the Grand Champion title at the Georgia Trucking Association driving competition. Tony Johnson took the top honors during the event held April 23 and 24 at Lake Lanier Islands in Buford, Georgia.

Specialty Award Winners

  • Rookie of the Year: Thomas Brownlow, XPO
  • Written Test Champion: Steve Elliston, Walmart
  • Pre-Trip Champion: Brent Darnell, Southeastern Freight Lines
  • Small Team Trophy: Old Dominion Freight Line
  • Large Team Trophy: Walmart Transportation

Individual Class Winners

  • Three-Axle: Chuck Pearson, ABF Freight System
  • Four-Axle: Joe Norris, Old Dominion Freight Line
  • Five-Axle: Tony Johnson, Frito-Lay
