PACCAR Inc. has announced a recall impacting roughly 14,000 Kenworth trucks across the 2024–2026 T680, T880, and W990 models, according to details published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

At the center of the issue is the 15-inch digital display, which in some cases may fail to show critical warning indicators or even the vehicle’s speed. This creates a compliance problem with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) 101, “Controls and Displays,” and FMVSS 121, “Air Brake Systems.”

To fix the problem, dealers will perform a free software update on affected vehicles. While PACCAR has not yet provided a specific timeline for when owners will receive recall notices, the company has shared its internal reference number: 25PACG.

For additional support, Kenworth owners can call customer service at 1-425-828-5888. The NHTSA has assigned this recall the official tracking number 25V569.

Mack Trucks has announced a recall for specific models due to electrical system issues, according to notices from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Details of the Recall

The recall affects certain 2025 Mack Anthem and Granite trucks. The issue stems from power cables that may have been improperly routed, which could potentially lead to an electrical short.

According to the recall notice, Mack Trucks, Inc. will re-route the power cables at no cost to the owners. Notification letters were sent to affected owners on June 16, 2025. For more information, owners can contact Mack’s customer service at 1-800-866-1177, referencing recall number SC0480.

Additionally, Mack is recalling specific 2024-2026 Mack MD models. The issue with these vehicles involves the Controller Area Network (CAN) system. If CAN communications are interrupted, the throttle signal from the electro mobility control unit may retain the last known throttle setting, preventing the engine from returning to idle as required. This defect violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 124, “Accelerator Control Systems.”

To address this, Mack dealers will update the control unit software free of charge. Notification letters for this recall are scheduled to be mailed on August 19, 2025.

For further assistance, affected owners are encouraged to contact Mack’s customer service at the number provided above.

Efforts to prioritize safety have led both Great Dane and Daimler Trucks North America to issue recalls, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Details on the Great Dane Recall

Great Dane Trailers is recalling its 2025 Champion Dry Freight trailers due to an issue involving missing kingpin welds. According to the NHTSA, “Missing kingpin welds may prevent the upper coupler from securely connecting the trailer.”

To address the problem, Great Dane will inspect and replace upper couplers as required, at no cost to owners. Notification letters were sent out on December 19, 2024. For further assistance, trailer owners can contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

Daimler Trucks Recall Information

Daimler Trucks North America has also issued a recall for certain Freightliner Business Class M2 emergency vehicles built from 2015 to 2020. These vehicles, equipped with specific Cummins diesel engines, may experience unexpected engine shutdowns due to issues with the engine protection and inducement software.

The NHTSA reported, “The engine protection and inducement software may cause the engine to shut down unexpectedly.”

Cummins will provide a free update to the electronic control module software and add a corrected data plate as part of the fix. Vehicle owners should expect notification letters by February 9, 2025. Owners in need of additional information can contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712, referencing recall number F1012.

How to Get Further Assistance

Vehicle owners looking for more information can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY users can dial 1-800-424-9153) or visit nhtsa.gov for updates.
