A “Do Not Drive” recall has been issued for nearly 800 Mack and Volvo trucks because of a wheel-mounting issue that could allow wheel lug nuts to loosen and a wheel to detach.

The recall affects approximately 644 Mack trucks and 155 Volvo trucks.

According to recall information, the affected vehicles may have an issue related to wheel and hub mating surfaces. Because of the potential for wheel separation, affected trucks should not be driven until they have been inspected and repaired.

The recall includes the following models:

2026 Mack Anthem

2026-2027 Mack Pinnacle

2026-2027 Mack Pioneer

2026-2027 Mack Granite

2027 Mack Anthem

2026 Volvo VAH

2026-2027 Volvo VNL

2026-2027 Volvo VN

2026-2027 Volvo VHD

2027 Volvo VNR

To address the issue, dealers will inspect the wheel and hub mating surfaces, remove any masking material, and replace worn components if necessary. Repairs will be performed at no cost to owners.

Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed beginning June 5.

Truck owners with certain 2026 and 2027 Volvo and Mack models may want to check their VINs after new recall notices were issued involving a wheel-related safety concern.

The recalls, reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, involve a wheel-related issue that could allow a wheel to separate from the truck if the problem is not corrected.

Volvo Trucks Included in Recall

Volvo Trucks is recalling certain 2026 VAH trucks, 2026-2027 VN, VHD, and VNL (4) models, along with certain 2027 VNR (4) trucks. According to the recall notice, wheel lug nuts may loosen, creating the possibility of wheel separation.

Volvo is advising owners not to operate affected vehicles until repairs have been completed.

Dealers will inspect wheel and hub mating surfaces, remove masking material, and replace worn components when necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is identified as RVXX2606. Volvo Trucks customer service can be reached at 800-528-6586.

Mack Trucks Also Affected

Mack issued a nearly identical recall involving certain 2026 Anthem (AN) trucks, 2026-2027 Pioneer PR (4), Pinnacle (PI/PN), and Granite (GR) models, along with certain 2027 Anthem AN (4) trucks.

The issue again involves wheel lug nuts that may loosen over time. Mack is also instructing owners not to drive affected trucks until repairs have been completed.

Dealers will inspect wheel and hub mating surfaces, remove masking material, and replace worn components if needed. The repairs will be completed at no charge. The Mack recall number is SC0495. Owners can contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177.

Owners Can Check VINs Online

NHTSA said vehicle identification numbers tied to both recalls can be searched through the agency’s recall database. Drivers and fleet owners who operate affected Volvo or Mack models can verify whether a truck is included in the recall before scheduling repairs.

If you run an International, you may want to double-check your model year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a new recall that affects more than 600 trucks currently on the road, and the issue could impact how your truck’s electronic control unit (ECU) responds to commands. For drivers, this recall isn’t just paperwork. It could affect how your truck behaves out on the highway.

Which International Trucks Are Impacted?

International Motors LLC has listed several popular models across a wide range of years. If you’re running one of these, it’s worth taking a closer look:

2016–2023 Lonestar
• 2018 8600
• 2018–2023 LT
• 2021–2026 MV
• 2022–2023 RH
• 2023–2026 HX
• 2025–2026 HV

The problem stems from electrical noise and low signal strength on the power line carrier. When that happens, the ECU may misread commands or stop working altogether, something no driver wants to happen mid-run.

What’s Causing the Issue?

The power line carrier isn’t consistently delivering a strong enough signal. That interference can confuse the ECU or interrupt it, leading to incorrect responses. Drivers may notice unusual behavior in systems tied to ECU communication, though the recall does not list specific alerts or warnings.

How International Plans to Fix It

International is teaming up with Bendix to reprogram the ECU software at no cost to owners. This fix will address the electrical noise and low signal issues that can cause the ECU to misread commands or stop working. Owner letters are expected to go out Jan. 19, 2026, and drivers can reach International customer service at 1-800-448-7825 with any questions. The recall number is 25525. Drivers can confirm whether their truck is included by searching VINs connected to this recall through NHTSA’s database. By completing this reprogramming, the company aims to ensure trucks operate safely and reliably, preventing ECU-related problems on the road.

International Motors

International is recalling certain 2023 through 2026 LT and RH models. The problem centers on the auto neutral function, which may not detect that the parking brake is engaged. If that happens, the transmission may fail to shift into neutral.
This recall affects 11,418 trucks.

Remedy
Dealers will replace the quick-release valve on the rear axle at no cost. Notification letters are scheduled to go out on January 19, 2026. Owners can reach International customer service at 1 800 448 7825. International lists this recall under number 25524. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved are searchable here.

This follows an earlier November 25 recall that also involved LT and RH units.

Mack Trucks

Mack is recalling certain 2025 and 2026 Pioneer models due to load lock clamps on the back of the cab that can loosen and cause the load lock bars to become unsecured.
This recall affects 46 trucks.

Remedy
Dealers will replace the load lock clamps at no cost. Notification letters are planned for January 15, 2026. Owners can reach Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack lists this recall under number SC0489. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved are searchable here.

Mack is also recalling 2026 Anthem units and 2025 through 2026 Pioneer vehicles for an issue with the automatic high beam system. The AHB may fail to switch to low beams as required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108.
This recall impacts 247 units.

Remedy
As an interim fix, Mack will push a software update over the air to disable the AHB. The final repair is still being developed. Interim letters are expected January 17, 2026, with additional notices once the full solution is ready. Owners may contact the same Mack customer service line. Mack lists this recall under number SC0488. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved are searchable here.

Volvo Trucks

Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2024 through 2026 VNL models due to the same load lock clamp issue reported in the Mack Pioneer recall. The clamps may loosen and allow the bars to become unsecured.
This recall affects 1,859 vehicles.

Remedy
Dealers will replace the clamps at no cost. Notification letters are planned for January 15, 2026. Owners can contact Volvo customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo lists this recall under number RVXX2512. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved are searchable here.

Volvo is also recalling certain 2026 VNR and 2024 through 2026 VNL trucks for automatic high beams that may not switch to low beams as required under FMVSS 108.
This recall affects 4,887 trucks.

Remedy
Volvo will roll out an over-the-air update to disable the AHB feature until a permanent repair is available. Interim letters will be mailed on January 17, 2026, with follow-up notices to come. Volvo lists this recall under number RVXX2511. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved are searchable here.

Daimler Trucks North America has issued a recall affecting four truck models due to inadequate air tank capacity, which may compromise braking performance.

The Recall Details

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling select trucks due to a reduced brake performance safety concern. Approximately 68 vehicles are impacted by this recall.

According to the NHTSA, the recall includes specific 2025 models of the following trucks:

Freightliner 114SD

Freightliner Business Class M2

Freightliner Cascadia

Western Star 49X

The issue arises from insufficient air tank capacity, which affects the vehicle’s braking power. This discrepancy means the trucks do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 121, which governs “Air Brake Systems.”

Resolution Plan

DTNA is currently working on a fix for this problem. Interim notification letters will be mailed to vehicle owners on July 6, explaining the potential safety risks associated with this issue. A follow-up notification will be sent once a proven remedy is available.

What Should Owners Do?

If you own one of the recalled vehicles, you can contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 for more information about the recall (reference recall number F1019). You can also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or visit their website at nhtsa.gov.

Stay informed and take action to ensure safety on the road!
