Owner-operators from across the United States and Canada will soon be heading to Tennessee for one of the most recognized truck shows in the industry.

The 44th annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition is scheduled for June 25-27 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. The event is open exclusively to actively working trucks and will once again allow drivers to compete for cash prizes, industry recognition, and a place in the next SuperRigs calendar. This year’s theme is “Big Rigs are the Boss.”

Working Trucks Take Center Stage

Unlike many truck shows that feature vehicles built primarily for exhibition, SuperRigs focuses on trucks that are still actively operating.

That requirement has helped the event maintain its reputation among owner-operators who take pride in keeping their equipment both productive and presentable.

Drivers will compete for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes, while also pursuing one of 12 coveted spots in the 2027 Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar.

What Judges Will Evaluate

Judging goes beyond a truck’s appearance at first glance.

According to event organizers, trucks will be evaluated on several factors, including:

Exterior appearance
Design
Finish quality
Originality
Attention to detail
Workmanship

Awards Include Best of Show and Specialty Categories

Several awards will be presented throughout the event.

Among the featured categories are:

Best of Show
Best Chrome
Best Lights

Additional specialty awards will also be presented during the competition.

Because the event attracts a wide variety of trucks and operations, multiple categories allow drivers to compete in different areas of recognition.

Shell Rotella Highlights the Drivers Behind the Trucks

“Shell Rotella SuperRigs has always been about more than impressive, hard-working trucks. It is about honoring the people behind the wheel and the pride they put into every mile,” said Julie Wright, Shell Rotella Brand Manager.

“We are thrilled to bring the 44th annual competition to Bristol Motor Speedway, a venue known for passion, performance, and unforgettable moments, while celebrating the drivers who help keep our world moving.”

More Than Competition

In addition to truck judging, SuperRigs will feature entertainment, fireworks, family activities, and the event’s popular Best Lights competition. The competition is free to enter, and spectators can attend at no cost.

Those activities have helped make SuperRigs a destination event for drivers, families, and trucking enthusiasts each year.

Virtual Voting Supports the St Christopher Truckers Relief Fund

Drivers and fans who cannot attend in person still have an opportunity to participate through the Virtual People’s Choice Award.

For every vote submitted, Shell Rotella will donate $10 to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund.

Voting remains open through 5 p.m. Central Time on June 26, allowing supporters to recognize their favorite trucks while helping generate donations for drivers in need.

Bristol Prepares for Another Year of SuperRigs

With more than $25,000 in cash prizes, 12 spots in the 2027 SuperRigs calendar, and multiple award categories up for grabs, competitors will head to Bristol Motor Speedway later this month for one of the trucking industry’s most recognized annual events.

There are already plenty for truck enthusiasts to see in Springfield this week, but one attendee will leave with something more than photos and memories.

The American Truck Historical Society plans to award a pair of VIP NASCAR Cup Series tickets during its Awards Banquet on June 5 as part of a fundraising raffle held throughout the organization’s National Convention and Truck Show.

The winner will receive two VIP tickets to the Sept. 27 NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway. Raffle tickets are available for $5 each, with proceeds supporting ATHS’s Building Maintenance Campaign.

For anyone attending the convention and still considering entering, time is running short. The drawing takes place Friday evening.

A Busy Week in Springfield

The convention opened earlier this week at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds and continues through June 6, bringing together truck owners, drivers, collectors, and industry enthusiasts from across the country.

Rows of restored classics, rare trucks, and historic working equipment have filled the grounds as attendees spend the week exploring exhibits, demonstrations, vendor displays, and trucking memorabilia. The event also includes an evening light show that has become a popular attraction for visitors.

This year’s gathering carries added significance because Route 66 is celebrating its centennial in 2026. Springfield’s deep connection to the historic highway helped make it a natural choice for this year’s event.

ATHS noted that the city provides a fitting backdrop for a convention focused on preserving and celebrating trucking’s history.

More Than A NASCAR Prize

While the raffle winner will walk away with a NASCAR experience, the fundraiser itself supports a larger effort.

According to ATHS, proceeds will help preserve the society’s headquarters and support its mission for future generations. The organization has spent decades documenting trucking history and highlighting the people, equipment, and milestones that helped shape the industry.

The raffle gives attendees an opportunity to support that mission while also taking a shot at a trip to Kansas Speedway later this year.

Advance registration for the convention has already closed, but on-site registration remains available. Daily spectator admission costs $15 for ATHS members and $20 for non-members. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.

More details about the schedule of events can be found here.

Springfield, Missouri, is preparing for a major trucking event this summer as Route 66 celebrates its 100th anniversary. Hundreds of historic trucks will arrive in the city for the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) 2026 National Convention and Truck Show, giving enthusiasts a rare opportunity to see classic rigs, restored vehicles, and rare working trucks all in one place.

Celebrating the trucks that built Route 66

“ATHS is proud to be an official attraction of the Route 66 Centennial Celebration,” said Courtney Cesar, ATHS convention organizer. “There’s no better way to celebrate Route 66 than with the trucks that helped build it. As a historic hub along Route 66, Springfield provides the perfect backdrop for a gathering that honors the legacy and evolution of trucking.”

The weeklong event begins June 2, when trucks arrive at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, with the main show scheduled for June 4-6. Springfield, a historic stop along Route 66, is a fitting host city as the iconic highway reaches its centennial. The event is recognized as an official attraction of the Route 66 Centennial Celebration.

What to expect at the show

Attendees can view hundreds of trucks, from meticulously restored classics to rare working rigs, each representing decades of craftsmanship and trucking history.

“Each of these trucks has its own story and craftsmanship,” said Peter Wild, ATHS convention committee chair. “The convention provides a welcoming space for all trucking enthusiasts to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and share the passion for trucking history during the show and at special events throughout the week.”

Activities beyond the trucks

The convention offers educational sessions, hands-on demonstrations, vendor exhibits, and an evening light show featuring the trucks. Attendees can also enter a raffle for a chance to win VIP tickets to a NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway in September.

Visitors can explore Springfield’s Route 66 landmarks, including the Route 66 Visitor Center, local museums, and roadside attractions such as the World’s Largest Fork and the Birthplace of Route 66 sign.

Thanks to volunteers and sponsors

ATHS credits its volunteers, sponsors, and supporters for making the event possible. Sponsors include Cummins, Mack Trucks, Kenworth, Vander Haag’s, Iowa 80, CAT Scale, Truckomat, Clark Freight, Reiselt’s Machine Works, Gully Transportation, and the Sercombe family.

More information and registration details are available here or through the ATHS Connect mobile app.

The 2025 Stars, Stripes and White Lines (SSWL) National Championship rolled back into EchoPark Speedway in Hampton, Georgia, for its second consecutive year. The event, hosted by the Bennett Family of Companies, combines high-level truck competition with live entertainment and fundraising for Wreaths Across America, honoring the nation’s heroes.

Across November 7 and 8, truck drivers from across the country brought their rigs to compete for national titles in four categories: limited bobtail, limited combo, working bobtail, and working combo. The trucks and drivers were invited based on standout performances at other shows throughout the year.

2025 National Champions:

Limited Combo: Don Wood, DSD Transport, 2003 Peterbilt 379

Limited Bobtail: CJ Nairn & Drew Royce, 2025 Kenworth W900L

Working Combo: Rob Baesel, AN Transport, 2024 Peterbilt 389

Working Bobtail: Kenny Ziglar, Ziglar Transport, 2007 Peterbilt 379

Don Wood’s “High Maintenance” 2003 Peterbilt 379 took a celebratory lap around the track as one of the event’s standout winners.

The show also featured motorcycle and Jeep competitions across categories such as Best in Stock, Custom, Old-School, Bagger, and Sound. An Open Class champion was named for Best Overall, completing the lineup of winners across all machines.

A signature highlight of the weekend was the golf ball drop, where 499 numbered balls were dropped from a Huey helicopter toward a painted target. Winners donated all cash prizes, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, directly to Wreaths Across America, amplifying the charitable impact of the event.

Marcia G. Taylor, owner and CEO of the Bennett Family of Companies, said, “It’s truly amazing to see everyone come out to support such an important mission of remembering the fallen, honoring those who serve, and teaching the next generation about the sacrifice of freedom. I’m honored to have seen the event more than double in size since last year, and I can’t wait to see what Stars, Stripes and White Lines 2026 brings.”

The 2025 SSWL National Championship reinforced the strong sense of community in the trucking world, showcasing drivers’ skills, their rigs, and their dedication to giving back while celebrating the culture of big rigs on the road.

Starting today, the Iowa 80 Truckstop is officially turning into the heart of America’s trucking celebration. The 2025 Walcott Truckers Jamboree kicks off today and runs through Saturday, July 12, offering three packed days of festivities for truckers, families, and fans of the industry.

Held every summer at the “World’s Largest Truckstop,” this event is a tradition for many drivers — a moment to step out of the cab, enjoy live entertainment, and connect with the larger trucking community. Admission, parking, and concerts are all 100% free, and events will go on rain or shine.

A Tradition Built on Community and Celebration

The Jamboree brings together everything drivers love in one spot — from live music and fireworks to cookouts, classic rigs, and contests.

“The Jamboree wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of the Iowa 80 staff, along with all the volunteers who brave the summer heat to make sure it’s a success,” said Delia Moon Meier, senior vice president of the Iowa 80 Group.

Featured highlights include the annual Super Truck Beauty Contest, a showcase of vintage trucks, the fan-favorite Iowa pork chop cookout, and the ever-competitive Trucker Olympics. Two nights of fireworks will light up the Walcott sky — a tradition that’s grown into one of the most anticipated parts of the weekend.

Big Sounds on the Big Stage

Country music fans are in for a treat Friday night. Little Texas takes the main stage at 7:00 PM on July 11.

“You’ll remember Little Texas for their iconic songs ‘God Bless Texas,’ ‘Amy’s Back in Austin’ and ‘You and Forever and Me,’” said Heather DeBaillie, vice president of marketing for the Iowa 80 Group.

The Grammy-nominated group has also received two American Music Award nominations and five ACM nods, taking home Top Vocal Group of the Year in 1993. They also earned Album of the Year at the CMAs in 1994, securing their place in ‘90s country history.

The music lineup also includes several Quad Cities favorites:

The Jimmy Welty Band

Casey Muessigmann

Angela Meyer and the Western Stars

The Dani Lynn Howe Band

If You Go

The Walcott Truckers Jamboree is located at Iowa 80 Truckstop, I-80 Exit 284 in Walcott, Iowa. On-site parking is free, and shuttle service from the parking area to the event grounds is being provided courtesy of TBK Financial’s LoadPay.

Concerts are free and open to the public, along with all other scheduled activities. For times and event details, visit truckersjamboree.com.

“So park your truck (or your car), put on your sunscreen, and head outside for another memorable Walcott Truckers Jamboree!” Meier added.

The American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) recently hosted its 2025 National Convention & Truck Show, attracting approximately 5,000 trucking enthusiasts to Madison, Wisconsin, from June 5–7. The event celebrated the history of trucking with awards, scholarships, and captivating demonstrations.

“The Madison show was everything ATHS stands for,” said Peter Wild, the 2025 Convention Chair from Newton, Kansas. “With 870 beautifully preserved trucks and trailers, hands-on demonstrations, and learning sessions, trucking history came alive. Best of all, we swapped stories with friends old and new from around the globe.”

Held at the Alliant Energy Center, the convention offered an all-in-one venue for attendees. “The Alliant Energy Center was the perfect one-stop venue,” said Courtney Cesar, ATHS Convention Manager. “Having show trucks, vendors, learning sessions, and events under one roof — and within walking distance of hotels — made the event seamless for attendees.”

Golden Achievement Awards

During the awards banquet, ATHS honored truckers with its prestigious Golden Achievement Awards, which celebrate over 50 years of dedication to the trucking industry. This year’s recipients included:

Hall of Fame Inductees

ATHS also revealed the 2025 inductees to its Hall of Fame, who will be honored on October 22 at its Kansas City, Missouri headquarters. The inductees are:

Mary Elliott, an 89-year-old from McDonough, Georgia, added a special touch to this year’s Shell Rotella SuperRigs event. After catching the event’s buzz on local news Friday morning, Elliott decided to attend Friday night’s festivities at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The annual event brought the community from Hampton and McDonough together to enjoy an impressive truck light show, live music, fireworks, and a display of remarkable rigs.

Drawn by the Beauty of Truck Designs

SuperRigs, a yearly celebration of hardworking truckers and their dazzling rigs, showcases competitions in categories such as Best Chrome, Best Lights, and Best of Show. Attendees are treated to more than just aesthetic appeal, with over $25,000 in cash and prizes awarded. Winners also have the chance to be featured in the Shell Rotella SuperRigs Calendar, complete with creative settings from Atlanta.

For Elliott, it was the artful paint designs on the trucks that first captured her attention.

“I saw that paint and it was done so beautifully on all of these trucks,” she shared with enthusiasm.

Elliott, who worked for an automotive paint company for 25 years before retiring in 1999, was enthralled by the craftsmanship on display.

Surprised by a Sense of Community

While Elliott came for the trucks, what surprised and delighted her most was the opportunity to connect with truck drivers at the event.

“I didn’t know I would get to meet drivers,” she said. “It has been a wonderful evening.”

Although the event had been plagued by poor weather earlier, including a nearby tornado that touched down east of the Speedway, Elliott’s adventurous spirit wasn’t dampened. Instead, she embraced the experience wholeheartedly.

An Adventurer at Heart

Elliott’s love of exploration is deeply ingrained in her life. She has visited 25 countries and 47 U.S. states, recently returning from a trip to Greece and Turkey. Her travels have been a mix of personal adventures and mission work with the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief and Builders for Christ.

When Shell Rotella staff learned of Elliott’s presence, they made her visit extra special. They provided her with a golf cart to easily move around and explore the nearly 50 trucks on display.

“Everybody is so welcoming,” Elliott remarked, adding, “It just seems like you are in a family reunion.”

A Night to Remember

For Elliott, the Shell Rotella SuperRigs event was far more than a showcase of trucks; it was an evening filled with artistry, adventure, and connection. Events like these highlight the vibrant community within the trucking industry, a family bound by hard work, passion, and camaraderie.
