The Walcott Truckers Jamboree returns to the Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, Iowa, starting tomorrow, July 9 through July 11, bringing professional drivers together for three days of truck competitions, historical exhibits, live entertainment, and industry displays.

Hosted annually at the Iowa 80 Truckstop, the event remains one of the largest gatherings on the trucking calendar. Organizers estimate approximately 46,000 people attended last year’s jamboree, while more than 175 exhibitors are expected to participate during this year’s event.

Admission, parking, and concerts are free.

The schedule includes returning favorites such as the truck beauty contest, the Trucker Olympics, and the annual pork chop cookout, along with opportunities to visit exhibitor displays throughout the grounds.

Friday’s events will include a celebration marking the 100th anniversary of a 1926 FWD truck housed at the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum. Built by the Four Wheel Drive Auto Company, the heavy-duty work truck is part of the museum’s permanent collection and represents an important period in the early development of commercial trucking. Museum admission is free throughout the jamboree, although donations are accepted to help preserve the collection.

Friday evening will conclude with a free concert by country group Little Texas, known for hits including God Blessed Texas and Amy’s Back in Austin. The band was named Top Vocal Group of the Year by the Academy of Country Music in 1993.

The Walcott Truckers Jamboree has been held for decades and continues to attract drivers from across the United States who stop to view custom trucks, visit vendors, explore the trucking museum, and spend time with others in the industry.

Drivers planning to attend can find the complete event schedule, exhibitor information, concert details, and additional visitor information on the official Walcott Truckers Jamboree website.

Peterbilt recently brought together truckers, owners, and employees for its annual Peterbilt Pride & Class Parade, a week-long celebration tied to the company’s United Way Giving Campaign. The event showcases both locally built trucks and the deep connection between Peterbilt and the Denton community.

The campaign allows Peterbilt employees to contribute through fundraising events, company initiatives, and personal donations, reinforcing the company’s commitment to giving back.

“The United Way Giving Campaign is a reflection of Peterbilt’s commitment to our community,” said Jake Montero, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “The parade is a fantastic tradition that unites our employees, customers and the Denton community. It celebrates the dedication of our employees and their shared loyalty and passion with Peterbilt owners, dealers and fans.”

Since its debut in 2016, the Pride & Class Parade has grown into a marquee event for Peterbilt drivers across North America. Truck owners and operators travel to Denton to display their customized rigs, from classic 1969 Model 358s to the latest 2026 Model 589 trucks.

Gary Henderson, President and CEO of United Way of Denton County, highlighted the partnership’s long-term impact. “Peterbilt and United Way of Denton County have built a longstanding partnership that has strengthened our community for more than three decades,” he said. “Peterbilt’s ongoing financial support and employee engagement have created a meaningful and lasting impact across Denton County.”

For truck drivers, the parade isn’t just a celebration of trucks—it’s a reminder of the influence the trucking community has in supporting local causes and making a tangible difference in the lives of others.

For those who live and breathe their wheels, whether that’s a delivery van, step van, or long-haul rig, the upcoming Mid America Trucking Show has something special in store. The Big Rig Build Off is making a powerful return in 2026, bringing together some of the most skilled custom truck builders in the business to compete for $20,000 and major bragging rights.

The show runs March 26 through 28 in Louisville, Kentucky, and the Build Off is set to be one of its biggest attractions once again.

“The Big Rig Build-Off is one of the most exciting events at MATS because it represents the very best of trucking innovation and artistry,” said Toby Young, MATS President. “We’re thrilled to welcome back this fan-favorite competition and showcase the passion and dedication of these outstanding builders.”

Four Builders, One Grand Prize

Just like delivery drivers take pride in a clean ride and a well-organized vehicle, these builders pour everything into designing machines that blend beauty and performance. The 2026 lineup features four well-known names in the custom truck world.

Luke Rethwisch, Rethwisch Transport LLC – The reigning Big Rig Build Off champion from Tomah, Wisconsin, Rethwisch continues his family’s tradition of truck building. His builds combine classic design with today’s technology, proving that skill and pride never go out of style.

James Stegall, Stegall’s Truck Shop – Working out of Perryville, Missouri, Stegall is recognized for his clean, detailed craftsmanship. After earning praise for his award-winning “Afternoon Delight” at a previous MATS show, he’s back to compete with another high-standard build that shows what patience and precision can do.

Randy Menkel, Never Satisfied Builds/J&L Contracting LLC – As Project Manager at Never Satisfied Builds, Menkel leads a team known for transforming heavy haul trucks into stunning showpieces. Their flawless fabrication and attention to perfection have earned them a reputation for pushing boundaries, and this competition is another chance to prove it.

Andrew Ditz, Stickerbilt Customs LLC – Founder of Stickerbilt Customs and a former builder with Chrome Shop Mafia, Ditz is all about hidden precision and sleek design. Every detail matters, and it shows in his reputation for spotless finishes and craftsmanship that goes beyond what’s visible.

Where to See the Builds

If you’re heading to MATS, the PKY Truck Beauty Championship Lot in front of the West Wing is where you’ll want to be. Attendees can check out each truck up close, meet the builders, and see the kind of care and pride that goes into each machine.

Just like the perfect route plan or a spotless vehicle makes a difference in last-mile work, these custom rigs reflect the same dedication to doing things right.

A panel of expert judges will evaluate each truck on creativity, attention to detail, and overall execution. The winner will be revealed at the PKY Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m.

Whether you’re hauling freight or delivering packages, something is inspiring about watching people who take their craft seriously. These builders remind every driver, long haul or last mile, that pride in your ride always shows.

If you’ve ever been to the Great American Truck Show (GATS), you know it’s more than just another event on the calendar. It’s a celebration, a reunion, and a peek into the future of trucking—all rolled into one. Let’s break down why GATS is the must-attend event for anyone in the trucking world.

The Early Days: A Humble Beginning

Imagine Dallas in 1978. The first Great American Truck Show was more of a friendly get-together than the massive spectacle it is today. Picture a few truck lovers swapping stories and checking out each other’s rigs. It was the beginning of something big, and you could already sense that this was going to become a trucker’s favorite event.

From Small Show to Big Time

By the time the 80s and 90s rolled around, GATS had really started to grow. What was once a small gathering became a major event with lots of exhibitors and a huge turnout. It was the place to see the latest in trucking, from shiny new trucks to innovative gear. It became the go-to spot for anyone who wanted to keep up with what’s hot in the industry.

Tech That Wows

In the 2000s, GATS started showcasing some seriously cool tech. Imagine walking through the show and seeing trucks with futuristic designs and cutting-edge equipment. It was like stepping into the future of trucking. Seeing all the new tech was not just exciting; it was a glimpse into how the industry would evolve.

Embracing Green Tech

Lately, GATS has been making a big push towards sustainability. It’s not just about flaunting new trucks anymore; it’s about how we can be smarter and greener. The show now highlights eco-friendly technologies and practices, showing us how trucking can keep evolving to be better for the environment.

Why You Should Be There

See the Latest Innovations
GATS is the place to catch all the latest tech and gear before anyone else. It’s your chance to see what’s coming next and get excited about the future of trucking.

Network Like a Pro
Whether you’re looking to meet new people, reconnect with old friends, or make industry connections, GATS is the perfect setting. It’s where truckers from all over come together, making it the ultimate networking event.

Learn and Grow
With its lineup of workshops and seminars, GATS is a great place to pick up new skills and stay on top of industry trends. It’s like a crash course in trucking that helps you stay sharp and informed.

Celebrate Our Culture
Beyond the business side, GATS is a celebration of trucking culture. From custom truck contests to driver awards, it’s a chance to show off and appreciate what makes trucking so special.

Wrapping It Up

So why should you make GATS a priority? Because it’s more than just a truck show—it’s a celebration of the trucking community and a sneak peek into the future. Whether you’re a seasoned driver or just a fan, GATS is the event you don’t want to miss!
