More than 130 trucks took part in last year’s Truckers for a Cause parade in Halifax County, Virginia. The event returns for its fifth year on Saturday, November 7, bringing truck drivers and residents together to raise money for the Halifax County Cancer Association.

Organizers are preparing another convoy through Halifax and South Boston, along with activities at the Halifax County Fairgrounds. The fundraiser honors people affected by cancer while supporting the association’s work in the community.

The event begins at 10:30 a.m., with the truck parade scheduled to leave the fairgrounds at 3 p.m.

Truck Parade Will Travel Through Halifax and South Boston

Participating trucks will begin lining up at the Halifax County Fairgrounds at 9 a.m. Saturday, ahead of the afternoon parade.

The convoy will depart at 3 p.m. and travel through Halifax, Centerville, and downtown South Boston before returning to the fairgrounds. The published route includes Dan River Church Road, Love Shop Road, Cowford Road, Highway 501 South, Seymour Drive, and Highway 360.

Organizers expect the parade to pass the Halifax County Courthouse around 3:20 p.m., reach Centerville shortly afterward, and travel through downtown South Boston at approximately 3:31 p.m.

The trucks are scheduled to return to the fairgrounds around 3:45 p.m. These are planned times, and actual arrival times may vary as the convoy moves through the community.

Last year’s turnout of more than 130 trucks demonstrates the support the event has received from the local trucking community. The parade has become a central part of the fundraiser, allowing participating drivers to honor people affected by cancer.

Fairgrounds Activities and Admission Details

The day’s activities extend beyond the truck parade. Families attending the fundraiser can enjoy face painting, inflatables, and entertainment provided by Big Fade Entertainment.

Organizers are also planning a 50/50 drawing and a survivor tent featuring two drawings for $250 gift cards.

Admission costs $5 per person and includes a meal. Children ages 12 and younger can attend free of charge.

The activities begin at 10:30 a.m., allowing visitors to spend time at the fairgrounds before the afternoon convoy.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Halifax County Cancer Association, which serves people affected by cancer in the local community.

Local Trucking Businesses Help Lead the Event

Truckers for a Cause was founded by Stone and Dee Gregory of Gregory Trucking Co., Kevin Hodges, and Allison Christian of KeJaeh Enterprises LLC.

The organization’s current board includes Dee Gregory as president, Allison Christian as vice president, Susan McLamb as treasurer, and Stephanie Smith as secretary.

The event has grown into an annual gathering that brings commercial trucks into the community for a charitable purpose. Last year’s participation exceeded 130 trucks, with the convoy traveling through Halifax County and South Boston in remembrance of people affected by cancer.

The fifth annual fundraiser continues that tradition, combining the truck parade with an opportunity for local families, survivors, and supporters to gather at the fairgrounds.

Event Information and Contact Details

Truckers for a Cause is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Halifax County Fairgrounds in Virginia.

Truck lineup begins at 9 a.m., activities open at 10:30 a.m., and the parade starts at 3 p.m.

Additional information is available through the Truckers for a Cause website and the organization’s Facebook page. Questions can also be directed to Dee Gregory at 434-432-8127 or Allison Christian at 434-476-1300.

With another convoy planned through Halifax County, participating drivers will once again put their trucks on display in support of a cause that has brought the community together for five years.
