The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has removed 14 electronic logging devices from its list of registered ELDs, placing them on the agency’s Revoked Devices list.

According to the agency, the devices failed to meet minimum requirements outlined in Title 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395.

“Meeting federal requirements isn’t optional,” said Derek Barrs, FMCSA administrator. “If a device falls short, it will be removed. We enforce the standard fairly and firmly because safety depends on it.”

ELDs Removed from Service

The following devices have been revoked:

Club ELD

Club ELD / Android — Model Number: PT30 ELD — Identifier: 01CLUB

Club ELD / iOS — Model Number: PT30 — ELD Identifier: 01CLUB

DENDRA INC

SAFERLOGS — Model Number: PT30 — ELD Identifier: 3K7R8W

Egreen ELD

EGREEN ELD — Model Number: EGREENELD1 — ELD Identifier: EGREE1

Gorilla Fleet Safety, LLC

Canada & US by Gorilla Safety — Model Number: CUSGEOAN — ELD Identifier: CAUS01

Patriot ELD — Model Number: PE0001 — ELD Identifier: PEELD1

ClearPath ELD (f/k/a Trucker Path Pro) — Model Number: TP-Pro — ELD Identifier: TPPROF

SimpleX 2 Go — Model Number: SIM2GO — ELD Identifier: SIM2GO

LB technologies FleetTrack — Model Number: LBFTELD — ELD Identifier: LBFT01

HCSS Pro — Model Number: HCSSPR — ELD Identifier: HCSSPR

Command Alkon Powered by Gorilla Safety — Model Number: CAGPST — ELD Identifier: CAGPST

What Happens Next

Motor carriers using any of the revoked devices have up to 60 days to transition to compliant ELDs listed on the Registered Devices list. The deadline to replace affected units is May 4, 2026.

Until that date, enforcement guidance instructs safety officials not to cite violations under 395.8(a)(1) for “No record of duty status” or 395.22(a) for “Failing to use a registered ELD” solely due to use of one of the revoked devices. Instead, officials are advised to review paper logs, logging software, or use the ELD display as a backup to verify hours-of-service data.

Beginning May 4, 2026, continued use of a revoked device will be treated as operating without a compliant ELD. At that point, drivers may be cited under 395.8(a)(1) and placed out of service in accordance with Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance criteria.

If an ELD provider corrects identified deficiencies, the agency may restore the device to the registered list and notify the industry of the update.

A previously removed electronic logging device has officially been cleared to resume use after federal review.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration confirmed that the Field Warrior electronic logging device has been reinstated to its roster of registered ELDs, allowing it to be used again for hours of service compliance.

The decision follows a temporary removal late last year after the device failed to meet federal requirements.

Why the Device Was Removed and What Changed

In November 2025, the agency pulled the Field Warrior ELD from its approved list after determining it did not fully comply with required standards. Devices that fall short of those benchmarks are not permitted for use, even if they are already installed in vehicles.

Federal officials say enforcement around ELD compliance remains closely tied to roadway safety.

“Electronic logging devices play an important role in preventing unsafe driving practices,” said Derek Barrs, FMCSA administrator. “When devices don’t meet federal requirements, they put safety at risk, and that’s why we take action to remove them and keep our roads safer for everyone.”

After corrective action and a successful review, the device has now been cleared to return to service.

Field Warrior ELD Details Confirmed by FMCSA

The reinstated device is produced by Forward Thinking Systems LLC and is approved under the following specifications:

ELD Provider: Forward Thinking Systems LLC

Device Name: Forward Thinking Systems Field Warrior ELD BYOD

Model Number: FW BYOD

ELD Identifier: FTSFW1

With reinstatement complete, the device is once again recognized as compliant for regulated operations.

What This Means Going Forward

Only devices listed on FMCSA’s registered ELD database are authorized for use. Any device removed from that list cannot be used to record hours of service until reinstated.

Operators using the Field Warrior ELD should confirm their system settings and ensure they are running the approved configuration tied to the reinstated model.

FMCSA continues to monitor registered ELDs and may take action again if compliance standards are not maintained.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has reinstated the PremierRide Logs electronic logging device to its list of registered and compliant ELDs, allowing carriers and drivers to resume using the device for hours-of-service recording.

PremierRide Logs was one of four ELDs removed from FMCSA’s registered devices list on January 13. With this action, it becomes the second device from that group to regain approval, following the reinstatement of the DSG Elogs device on January 15.

What FMCSA has confirmed

FMCSA has not released details explaining why PremierRide Logs was originally revoked or what specific steps were taken to restore its certification. The agency has only confirmed that the device is once again listed as compliant under the federal ELD program.

Carriers and drivers who rely on PremierRide Logs are now permitted to use the system again to track and record hours-of-service data in accordance with federal regulations.

ELD enforcement changes remain in effect

The reinstatement comes amid a broader shift in how FMCSA oversees electronic logging devices. On December 1, the agency announced a “complete overhaul of the vetting process” for ELDs as part of an effort to address tampering and fraud concerns.

Since that announcement, FMCSA has revoked self-certifications for nearly a dozen ELDs that had previously appeared on the agency’s registered list. Of those devices, two have now been reinstated.

What this means for carriers and drivers

For motor carriers, the reinstatement provides clarity for fleets that were forced to transition away from PremierRide Logs earlier this month. For drivers, it restores an option that can now be used without risking compliance violations.

FMCSA’s recent enforcement actions signal that scrutiny of ELD providers remains high. Carriers are encouraged to continue monitoring FMCSA updates to ensure any device in use remains on the registered list as the agency’s revised vetting process continues.

The PremierRide Logs reinstatement marks another development in what has become an active period of change for ELD compliance across the trucking industry.
