August 20, 2021 (Baltimore, Md.) — Cowan Systems, LLC, a full-service transportation and logistics company based in Baltimore, Md., recently announced its Regional Driver Incentive Program. This incentive program is designed to guarantee every newly hired driver a $15,000 bonus and provides the opportunity to earn an astonishing $20,000 to qualified CDL-A drivers who join the company by October 1, 2021.

“New drivers to Cowan Systems will get more than half of their payout amount within the first six months. This isn’t a sign-on bonus that pays you tiny sums for years,” says Steve Wells, Chief Operating Officer of Cowan. “Professional truck drivers who join us now will get their full payout in less than 18 months.”

All new drivers are automatically eligible to earn $15,000 through this incentive plan. To earn $17,500, drivers must have either one year of experience with their current employer or their hazmat endorsement. Drivers with both their hazmat endorsement and one year of verifiable experience with their current employer will earn a $20,000 bonus.

“When we say Cowan is for the driven, we’re talking about a special group of people who are driven to do this important job. So, we want to make it well worth it to join Cowan. The driven always go the extra mile for us. Now we want to do the same for you.”

Each driver’s offer letter will include the outline of this significant incentive program and what they can expect to see.

“Once a driver is scheduled for an orientation, we provide the driver in writing the Regional Road Incentive amount, how they qualified for it, and a clear payment schedule,” Heather Fenner, Vice President of Human Resources said.

CDL-A truck drivers are encouraged to apply before October 1 to be eligible for the full amount of the Regional Driver Incentive Program.

Cowan Systems offers dedicated, brokerage, truckload, LTL, warehousing, and intermodal services.
Truckers are often hailed as heroes for helping motorists on the road and watching out for the safety of others. But one trucker took his role as hero up a notch when he saved a couple in Utah earlier this month from a house fire.

Just after 3 a.m. on June 8, 2021, the anonymous trucker was heading west on Center Street in Veyo, Utah, towards Route 18 when he noticed flames coming from the corner of a house across the street and called 911.

Fire Chief Chris Larsen, who responded to the 911 call, says the trucker was particularly concerned because he saw the house go up in flames but no one was standing outside, leading him to believe that the residents were still asleep inside, unaware of the danger.

The report states that the trucker then laid on his horn to wake the residents but did not see any response. He then went to the front door and kept knocking loudly until someone answered. The male resident, who suffers from a medical condition that severely limits his mobility, was carried out of the home by the trucker as the woman followed them outside to safety.

When firefighters arrived, they found the couple waiting outside, but there was no sign of the heroic trucker. Crews then worked to extinguish the blaze coming from the west corner of the house and prevented it from spreading throughout the structure. Around one third of the house was destroyed by the fire, and the remaining parts of the house suffered smoke and water damage.

The nephew of the rescued couple says the trucker’s identity remains a mystery, “I still have no idea how he was able to see that fire,” said Brandon G. Humphries. “He was a guardian angel and was certainly at the right place at the right time.”
