Schneider National Inc. is now including a no-cost third-party warranty on most qualifying used trucks. The coverage provides 90 days or 25,000 miles of protection for engine and after-treatment systems and is administered by National Truck Protection.

According to the company, “Designed to reduce ownership risk, the warranty gives owner operators and small fleets peace of mind with immediate coverage from day one – helping shield buyers from unexpected repair expenses and adding confidence to their purchase,” Schneider said.

The program began in December 2025 and applies automatically to qualifying Schneider-owned used trucks that no longer carry a manufacturer’s warranty. Terms, conditions, and coverage requirements apply.

What Is Covered

The 90-day warranty includes protection for key components tied to engine performance and emissions systems, including the engine, engine fuel injectors, engine fuel and water pumps, engine control module, turbocharger or turbochargers, and after-treatment systems.

For many owner operators, those are some of the most expensive systems to repair in the first months of ownership.

Which Trucks Do Not Qualify

There are two primary exceptions.

2023 and 2024 Freightliner Cascadia models are excluded because they already include Schneider’s no-cost Enhanced Engine Warranty, providing six months or 60,000 miles of coverage.

Trucks that still have remaining manufacturer warranties are also excluded, since additional third-party coverage would not be necessary.

Buyers should confirm eligibility on specific units before purchase.
