The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) is looking for passionate individuals to join its Research Advisory Committee (RAC). If you want to shape the future of transportation, this is your chance.
ATRI’s RAC is a diverse group of government officials, academics, professional truck drivers, trucking company executives, and suppliers. Together, they play a vital role in recommending a research agenda for the Institute on an annual basis.
Since its inception in 2002, ATRI’s RAC has appointed over 220 individuals to serve.
“ATRI’s diverse portfolio of critical industry research is representative of the collective input of these engaged industry stakeholders who annually identify trucking’s top research needs,” the news release stated.
Their newly launched online application form makes it easy for individuals to express their interest and showcase how their unique experience can contribute to the research identification process.

If selected by the ATRI Board of Directors, RAC members serve two-year terms and attend one annual in-person meeting, as well as participate in ad hoc research webinars throughout the year. They are also expected to actively support ATRI’s research initiatives.
Applications received for the 2025-26 Research Advisory Committee will be reviewed next summer.
“Serving on ATRI’s Research Advisory Committee is one of the most sought-after industry appointments and this new online application form will allow us to more formally solicit interest and thoroughly review candidates prior to being considered by the ATRI Board of Directors,” said ATRI President Rebecca Brewster.
