TCA’s Highway Angel program was established in 1997 to recognize “exemplary courtesy and courage” shown by North America truck drivers.
They’ve selected the 2023 Highway Angel of the Year: Jason Corino, a driver for Melton Truck Lines.
ALEXANDRIA, VA—The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has named truck driver Jason Corino, from Deltona, FL, a TCA Highway Angels for his heroic actions on November 29, 2023.
Corino, a driver for Melton Truck Lines out of Tulsa, OK, stopped to shield innocent motorists from a shooting taking place at a roadside traffic stop.
According to highwayangel.org, He became a key witness to the incident and his truck camera footage was extremely helpful to the officer’s investigation. Unfortunately, Sergeant Moran died as a result of wounds sustained during the incident.
