The first phase of the project begins on May 16 with traffic shifts on the Broad Street and Eddy Street bridges, both of which are rated as structurally deficient and will be replaced. During construction:
- All traffic on the Broad Street Bridge will move to the northbound side.
- A portion of the Eddy Street Bridge will close, and southbound traffic will follow a detour, which will remain throughout the project.
