Position Details

  • Location: Based in Barstow, CA with dispatch to Yermo every other Saturday morning
  • Pay: $30/hour 
  • Schedule: Part-time ONLY
  • Guaranteed Hours: Every other Saturday, starting at 6:00 AM for a 4–6 hour shift in Yermo

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and flexible part-time Relief Driver to support our operations in Yermo and Barstow (as needed). This role is ideal for drivers who value consistency, teamwork, and working in a dynamic rail service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform locomotive cleaning and servicing duties in Yermo, including locomotive cabs, bathrooms, and toilets
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and complete vehicle inspections

Compensation

  • Paid weekly for all on-duty hours, including breaks, lunches, and wait time

Benefits

  • 401(k): 5% company contribution with a 4% match, fully vested immediately

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL (Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred)
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Must pass all required background checks (company, customer, and government)
  • Must maintain all required licenses and certifications
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Moderate computer skills required
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and able to work independently

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb on/off elevated surfaces regularly
  • Walk long distances on various terrain
  • Climb in/out of truck cabs and up ladders or steps multiple times per shift
  • Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
  • Handle liquid non-hazardous and dry bulk materials
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently
