During last May’s International Roadcheck event, CVSA certified inspectors conducted a whopping 59,026 commercial motor vehicle inspections resulting in 12,456 vehicles and 3,714 drivers being taken out of service.
Although 2021 saw significantly fewer vehicle and driver inspections at 23,135, inspectors still managed to take 21.8% of vehicles off the road at their discretion and 5.2% of drivers.
This year’s campaign is planned for May 16-18 and will be doubling down on ABS brakes as well as cargo securement.
Among the top vehicle out-of-service causes are brakes, lights, tires, and cargo securement. Top driver violations include hours of service, logs, or issues with licensure.
CCJ and Mann+Hummel have joined forces to provide expert advice from some of trucking’s safest fleets. Topics will include maintenance tips and practices to make roadside inspections easier, as well as a segment directly from CVSA on trends they see during roadside inspections and where fleets most often go wrong.
This hour-long webinar will be held April 20 at 1PM Central Time. It will include a live Q&A with the panelists and is completely free to attend.
If you are unable to attend live, you can still register and receive a recording of the webinar to watch at your convenience.
