Javier, a student at Patterson High School with loving parents and a younger brother who admired him, found himself going down the wrong path. Despite his supportive home life and potential for success, he succumbed to destructive influences that put his future in jeopardy.

When traditional school programs weren’t working, a CDL Driver course presented an unexpected opportunity for success. Taking the program during his senior year in high school proved to be just what he needed; it helped him turn his life around and reach new heights of achievement.

Of his nine friends in high school, four ended up in prison and two are deceased due to gang violence. Javier, however, was able to beat the odds and overcome. He currently works as a Professional CDL Driver with aspirations that recently inspired his brother Alejandro who has now earned their family’s second license for big rigs on U.S. roads.

Not only was he able to overcome every obstacle, but during the pandemic, when his parents found themselves out of work for some time, Javier was able to support them because trucking is an essential job. This allowed him to give back to the family that supported him through his darkest days.

Javier is a success story in the making. After completing Patterson High School’s CDL program, he set off on an incredible journey and has been flourishing as a company driver for the last three years. Now, he’s taking his next big step forward as he’s in the process of purchasing his own truck and starting his own company, which he hopes to expand someday by employing future graduates of the Patterson Program.
