This week, two prominent organizations that have served truckers for decades officially announced a strategic partnership. Robert Palm, founder and president of Truckers Final Mile (TFM), formed 10 years ago to support the community with much-needed services, will receive much-needed support staff from TFC Global’s half-century old chaplaincy organization. Through this agreement between these two committed ministries both are now able to focus even more intently on helping those who serve behind the wheel.
For TFC Global, the partnership will enable them to provide further support for the pros in trucking, their loved ones, and individuals within other related fields. This development empowers them in meeting spiritual, physical and mental requirements with comprehensive resources.
When speaking of the partnership, TFC Global President and CEO, Ron Fraser said it really “made sense because we were already acting as the chaplaincy arm of Truckers Final Mile.” He continued by saying, “Working with families who have experienced a loss of a loved one while on the road for whatever reason, I first met Robert on a cold, wet day at White’s Truck Stop in Raphine, Virginia. I was so taken by his dedication that I wanted us to find some way to be a part of his work.”
Through their partnership, the two organizations plan to provide much-needed assistance for families who suffer from the loss of a loved one on the road as well as trucking community members facing issues such as depression, marriage and family problems or addictions. Additionally, their partnership is working towards raising awareness about human trafficking in our society today. This alliance promises comfort not only through spiritual care but also additional resources which could prove essential during trying times.
TFM founder, Robert Palm, stated that the organization stands to strengthen its “position as a vital resource for the individual truck driver behind the wheel and his or her family when tragedy strikes.” The partnership effectively expands the organization by tapping into TFC Global’s 73-year established structure and team. Palm added that it will also open up “new funding avenues for our strategic plan’s current operating programs.”
“I’m both honored and humbled to be able to join the TFC Global family and work to assure the mutual success of our missions,” Palm added.
Fraser noted that Palm “wants to create a legacy for his organization.”
“With his direction and our organizational capacity, we can help make that happen,” Fraser said.
