The American Transportation Research Institute has initiated a study to investigate the influence of state laws legalizing marijuana on commercial trucking, and its impact on both the industry as well as individual drivers.
ATRI debuted this survey at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville. Over 300 professional haulers voiced their opinion at the event and now everyone can join in by taking the online version of this poll.
The topic of marijuana impacts has been identified as a critical issue in the industry due to the challenge of navigating between state laws and federal regulations regarding usage, especially for those who are of a federally regulated workforce. Marijuana impact research was a top priority of ATRI’s Research Advisory Committee in 2022 and continues at high priority this year.
The survey seeks driver perspectives and wisdom associated with new sate laws as well as the impact these laws have on safety and the workforce.
The survey will be open through April 28, 2023, and can be accessed online HERE.
