Bendix has officially introduced its 2025 lineup of technical training courses designed to help technicians, owner-operators, and fleet teams enhance their skills in maintaining and servicing commercial vehicles. Covering a variety of advanced topics, these courses prioritize safety, performance, and operational efficiency.

Why Technical Training Matters

“Commercial vehicle technical training is more important than ever,” Bendix said in a press release. “Bendix hears this repeatedly in its conversations with fleets across North America. For more than 50 years, the company has made it a priority to understand and deliver on that critical need. That commitment continues as Bendix kicks off its 2025 brake school sessions, hosting multiday classes across the country from March to December.”

The training programs, which run from March through December, will be held both in-person and virtually, accommodating participants’ diverse schedules and learning preferences.

Flexible and Comprehensive Training Options

“Technicians operate in a fast-changing commercial vehicle landscape, where safety components advance rapidly,” said Nicole Oreskovic, Bendix vice president of sales and marketing. “Carriers are under intense pressure to maintain overall safety, performance, and uptime. At the same time, they strive to lower their total cost of ownership. It’s in this environment that Bendix maintains its decades-long dedication to providing comprehensive, convenient training.”

Bendix’s training programs for 2025 include expanded opportunities like the highly attended Bendix Advanced Technology Training sessions and their foundational Air Brake Training classes. These courses aim to meet growing demand for reliable and accessible technical expertise.

Key highlights of the in-person programs include the use of Bendix air system training boards. These hands-on instructional tools incorporate a fully functional Bendix Wingman Fusion system, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of collision mitigation technology and other critical components within Bendix air braking systems.

Curriculum Highlights

Three-Day Air Brake Training Class

Tailored for both new and seasoned technicians, this course covers the complete functionality of dual air brake systems. The curriculum includes topics such as the fundamentals of compressed air, diagnosing air system failures, and troubleshooting essential components like air compressors, valves, drum brakes, and air disc brakes.

Two-Day Advanced Technology Training Class

This advanced course dives into cutting-edge safety and driver assistance systems. Key areas of focus include:

  • Antilock Braking Systems (ABS)
  • AutoVue Lane Departure Warning (LDW) System
  • Bendix ESP Full-Stability System
  • Bendix Wingman Advanced Collision Mitigation Technology
  • Bendix Wingman Fusion, the premier driver assistance system
  • SmarTire and Trailer-Link Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems
  • Maintenance instruction for air disc brakes and electrical diagnostics

“The increase in technological advances in braking and stability makes this training a must for the advanced technician,” said Brian Screeton, Bendix manager – technical training and service. “As safety advances continue, technicians are only going to see more of these systems and components. Courses like ours provide critical foundational knowledge for both today’s and tomorrow’s trucks.”

He also noted that a major North American OEM includes these Bendix courses as part of their Master Technician certification curriculum, further highlighting the value of these training sessions.

Certification Opportunities

Participants in both training programs can opt to take a written test at the end of the session. Those who pass receive a “Tested and Passed” certificate, while others earn a Certificate of Completion. It’s important to note that these certifications are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and do not replace DOT certification requirements.
