DriveTestIQ has released iPhone and Android apps and updated its website to provide practice tests for people preparing for commercial driver’s license (CDL), standard driver’s license and motorcycle exams. The platform offers state-specific study materials, practice questions and explanations based on applicable traffic laws and regulations.
The new apps are available through the Apple App Store and Google Play, while the updated DriveTestIQ website brings all three licensing categories together. Users can access the platform from a computer or mobile device, with progress carried between devices.
CDL Practice Tests Cover Multiple Endorsements
For CDL applicants, DriveTestIQ offers approximately 1,800 to 2,470 practice questions and answers, depending on the state. The material covers General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination Vehicles, along with endorsements for hazardous materials, tank vehicles, passenger transportation and school buses.
The platform also includes simulated exams using an 80% passing threshold. Questions are developed from state traffic laws and federal regulations, according to the company, with references to the relevant legal provisions where applicable.
When users answer incorrectly, the platform provides an explanation of the rule associated with the correct response. This allows applicants to review the underlying regulation rather than relying solely on memorized answers.
Offline Access and Additional Study Options
The mobile apps and website use the same general layout and offer study materials for all three licensing categories. DriveTestIQ also provides offline study options, although the company’s announcement specifically identified downloadable state driver’s license questions for iPhone and offline motorcycle guides.
For standard driver’s license preparation, the platform offers 657 state-specific questions, progress tracking and exam simulations where states publish their test formats. A feature called the Fix List brings previously missed questions back for additional practice.
Motorcycle materials include guides covering federal motorcycle safety standards and state riding laws where available.
Language availability varies by state. California’s driver’s license materials are offered in 12 languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean. Texas has nine language options, while Florida offers English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
DriveTestIQ said users can begin studying for free, with full access available through a one-time purchase rather than a recurring subscription. The company did not specify the purchase price in its announcement.
The platform provides supplemental preparation materials for licensing exams, but applicants should continue to consult their state’s official CDL manual and applicable testing requirements when preparing for a knowledge test.
