The Women in Trucking Association has unveiled the finalists for the 2024 Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award (DWLA), which showcases the remarkable achievements of women in the North American transportation industry. Sponsored by the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) and Truckstop, this award celebrates exceptional female leadership within individual companies and the broader industry.
This year’s finalists represent a diverse array of talent and expertise. Sherri Garner Brumbaugh, president and CEO of Garner Trucking, Inc., boasts over 33 years of experience. She started her journey in the family-owned truckload carrier in 1991 and, after years of hard work and dedication, gained ownership in 2012. Her extensive industry involvement includes serving on the boards of the American Trucking Associations, the Ohio Trucking Association, and the Indiana Motor Truck Association, as well as contributing to the Federal Department of Transportation’s advisory committee on human trafficking.
Ramona Hood, president and CEO of FedEx Custom Critical, Inc., began her career with FedEx in 1991. Her work ethic, knowledge, and passion allowed her to steadily progress through various executive leadership roles within FedEx Custom Critical and FedEx Supply Chain. She has consistently been recognized for her exceptional thought leadership, accountability, and results-driven approach.
Sarah Ruffcorn, president of Trinity Logistics, leads a dynamic freight solutions company catering to businesses of all sizes. She joined Trinity Logistics in 2002 after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications from Western Illinois University. Her long-term dedication to excellence has allowed her to land increasing roles of responsibility and leadership. She currently contributes to the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) Board of Directors, TIA’s Women in Logistics Committee, and the Tidal Health Medical Partners Board of Directors.
The Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award highlights and celebrates the priceless contributions of women in commercial transportation and logistics, including both logistics service providers and motor carriers alike. The 2024 award recipient will be announced during the TIA Capital Ideas Conference and Exhibition on Thursday, April 11, in Phoenix.
