Freight Fantasy Football League Raises Money for Truckers Facing Illness or Injury

Transfix's Freight Fantasy Football League has raised $26,200 for the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, with donations continuing through Super Bowl Sunday.

A fantasy football league built around the freight industry is returning for a second season, with money raised going to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund.

Transfix has opened its 2026 Freight Fantasy Football League to people across freight and logistics after limiting the first year to the company’s extended network. As of Sept. 2, corporate sponsorships combined with matching contributions from Transfix had raised $26,200 for the relief fund.

League Opens to the Freight Industry

This year’s league brings corporate sponsors, fantasy players, and individual donors into one fundraiser rather than separating participants by different parts of the industry.

Ten companies are sponsoring the 2026 league: Allen Lund Company, BWS Logistics, Chain, Corporate Traffic Logistics, DAT, HYWAY Transportation, Optimus, OTR Solutions, R+L Global Logistics and Sheer Logistics.

Participants can register for the fantasy league through the opening weekend of the NFL regular season. The 2026 season begins today, Wednesday, Sept. 9, as the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks host the New England Patriots.

People do not have to participate in the fantasy league to contribute to the fundraiser. Donations will remain open through Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 14, 2027, with all proceeds going to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund.

Donations Support Drivers When They Are Off the Road

The St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund provides financial assistance to over-the-road truck drivers and their families when illness or injury prevents a driver from working. Assistance can help with household expenses while a qualifying driver is unable to earn an income.

Since 2008, the organization has helped nearly 4,200 truck drivers and their families and provided more than $5.5 million in direct financial assistance.

Diane Hutsell, executive director and director of philanthropy for the relief fund, said the organization welcomed the decision to expand the fantasy league across the freight industry.

“Every dollar raised goes directly toward making sure professional drivers have support when illness or injury takes them off the road,” Hutsell said.

Fundraiser Runs Through the Football Season

The Freight Fantasy Football fundraiser will continue well after league registration closes. Contributions can be made throughout the NFL regular season and playoffs before the fundraiser concludes with Super Bowl LXI in February.

The expanded second year gives drivers and others working throughout freight and logistics two ways to participate: joining the fantasy league at the beginning of the season or contributing directly to the relief fund at any point during the campaign.
