Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is giving trucking professionals a little extra time to nominate a true road hero. The Highway Hero Award—a program celebrating commercial truck drivers who go above and beyond to help others—now has an extended nomination deadline: February 28 at 11:59 p.m.
“Commercial truck drivers are not only at the center of the supply chain industry, but they also act as vigilant guardians of the roads, ready to assist others in need,” shared Joe Burke, vice president of Goodyear North America Commercial business. “For over four decades, the Goodyear Highway Hero Award program has celebrated remarkable contributions of professional truck drivers who have acted selflessly for the good of others on the road.”
What Makes a Highway Hero?
This award recognizes professional drivers who show extraordinary bravery or compassion while on the job. Here’s who can be nominated:
- Licensed CDL drivers actively working full-time in commercial trucking.
- Drivers operating commercial, vocational, or non-lifesaving emergency vehicles with rim sizes larger than 19 inches.
- Individuals who performed a selfless or heroic act while on duty between January 1 and December 31, 2024.
Eligible drivers can come from all corners of the industry, from long-haul truckers to local delivery drivers in both the U.S. and Canada.
How to Nominate
Know a driver who deserves the spotlight? Nominating them is easy—just visit Goodyear’s Highway Hero page and fill out the online form. A panel of judges will carefully review submissions to select a winner and up to two finalists.
What’s at Stake?
The winner will receive a cash prize and a once-in-a-lifetime ride on the legendary Goodyear Blimp. Finalists won’t leave empty-handed—they’ll also receive cash prizes as a token of appreciation for their bravery.
