Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has unveiled an innovative tires-as-a-service program targeted at commercial fleets. This new initiative has already proven to help fleets in the U.S. and Europe by lowering costs and reducing vehicle breakdowns.

This tires-as-a-service offering integrates Goodyear’s premium tires, advanced predictive insights, and robust service network into a single, subscription-based package. By building on Goodyear’s established Total Mobility program, the company now provides end-to-end tire management services for their clients.

Designed specifically for commercial and last-mile delivery fleets in both the U.S. and Europe, this service aims to save time and reduce total cost of ownership through outsourced tire management. Key advantages include increased vehicle uptime, fewer breakdown incidents, and reduced fuel consumption.

Proven Results

Recent pilot programs have shown that Goodyear’s tires-as-a-service solution can significantly lower total cost of ownership for fleets. For instance, a last-mile delivery fleet in the U.S. saw an almost 80% reduction in emergency vehicle breakdowns and eliminated the need for customer-owned inventory.

Comprehensive Features

Some standout features of this pay-per-mileage subscription service include:

  • Premium Goodyear Tires with Intelligence Technology: These tires generate proactive insights for optimal performance.
  • 24/7 Continuous Monitoring: Every tire is constantly monitored, with data collected to ensure peak operation.
  • Proactive Alert Management: The service coordinates alerts and service requirements seamlessly.
  • Halo Tire Inflator: This self-powered, automatic tire inflation system is installed on applicable wheel ends through an exclusive agreement with Aperia Technologies.
  • Extensive Service Network: Access to Goodyear’s expansive network allows for quick dispatching of technicians when needed.

“Goodyear’s tires-as-a-service offering is an evolution of our Total Mobility offering, providing a new solution for customers who require end-to-end tire management. It extends Goodyear products, services, and solutions by providing one comprehensive, worry-free subscription,” said Gregory Boucharlat, vice president of Goodyear Tires-as-a-Service. “We have already demonstrated that leveraging this solution can help fleet managers realize untapped value, and we look forward to expanding it to new customers.”
