On Friday, a Facebook user shared video of dozens of trucks waiting to deliver badly needed goods to storm victims in San Antonio.
This week, hundreds of people have waited outside of H-E-B locations in long lines to try to get needed groceries and other supplies after a debilitating winter storm that left some parts of Texas without power for days and killed dozens of people.
In a Friday news release, H-E-B said that “the unprecedented weather event in Texas has caused severe disruption in the food supply chain. Like many other Texans are experiencing, this disruption is complicated by power and water outages. For H-E-B, this means temporary impacts to manufacturing, warehousing, store operations, and the daily lives of our Partners and their families.”
On Friday, a moving new video was shared by H-E-B employee and Facebook user Christopher Garcia, who wrote: “This morning I cried seeing all these trucks coming to #HEB to pick up and drop off to the stores to continue to take care of the people of San Antonio and surrounding areas! Thank a trucker thank an HEB partner. I’m proud to work for Heb!”
Several Facebook commenters took a moment to thank the truck drivers for their life-saving efforts.
