Kodiak Robotics Inc., a revolutionary self-driving trucking company, recently announced their collaboration with Forward Air Corporation – an industry leader in asset-light transportation services across North America.
Through the agreement, the two companies will provide autonomous freight service between Dallas and Atlanta 24/6, making three round trips weekly.
Since joining forces with Forward in August of last year, Kodiak has delivered an impressive 100 shipments and racked up over a whopping 100,000 miles on the road. With safety as its number one priority, their self-driving truck is operated by a team of dedicated driver supervisors ensuring they’re adhering to hours-of service regulations at all times.
Kodiak’s ability to operate around the clock across the roughly 800-mile stretch between Dallas and Atlanta can largely be attributed to its autonomous system and its sparse mapping solution, which expedites the process of introducing new autonomous lanes while enabling Kodiak to distribute real-time fleet-wide mapping updates over the air.
