Possible $25,000 Tax Break for Ohio businesses to train truck drivers

House Bill 197 has been passed by the Ohio House to attempt to reduce driver shortages which are reaching 60,000 nationwide and still rising per the American Trucking Association. Ohio companies that train new drivers would receive tax credits up to $25,000 to be applied to training expenses beginning January 1st.  Kevin Boehner, Ohio Chamber Director of Small Business and Workforce Policy, “We all know how important and valuable commercial vehicle operators are to our economy and we also know that there is a major need as it relates to commercial vehicle operators.”
