Hiring Diesel Mechanics in Your Area!

- Role responsible to inspect, diagnose and perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repair of diesel semi-trucks and trailers. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures as well as legal regulations. May assist lesser experienced me
- Apply technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as written diagrams, manufactures’ manuals, etc.
- Complete related maintenance documentation including work orders, test reports, parts inventory and order logs, etc.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure workspace is clean and organized.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulations and laws within assigned area (i.e. DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.) to ensure company compliance.
- Mentor and train less experienced mechanics on company procedures and tractor/trailer repairs and maintenance.
- Perform routine inspection and diagnose failure of tractors/trailers and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts. Identify and employ proper procedure of troubleshooting to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary.
- Prepare and/or complete DOT inspections and related paperwork/documentation accurately and timely.
- Responsible for the adherence of all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Responsible for semi-trucks and trailers preventative and corrective maintenance and repair in a safe, efficient, timely and cost-effective manner to include, but not limited to overhaul and repair of engines, transmissions, cooling systems, steering systems, air systems, trailer refrigeration system or any other system used on heavy duty tractor/trailer trucks

While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. - Heavy Duty Brake Certification
- Refrigerated trailer maintenance experience
- ESA, Bendix, Meritor, Cummins experience (preferred)
- DOT Inspector certified
- CDL A (preferred)
- Trade School Graduate (Preferred)
- Must be able to pass DOT physical examination and subject to periodic random alcohol and drug test
- 3-5 years diesel mechanic experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

SpartanNash is seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and repair of our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our transportation operations. Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and other vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Perform complex repairs and adjustments to engines, transmissions, and other critical components.
Diagnostic and Analysis:
- Utilize diagnostic software, technical manuals, and experience to identify and address mechanical and electronic issues.
- Analyze vehicle performance data and make recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency and longevity.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure vehicles are compliant with federal, state, and company safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify safety hazards and potential issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and hours spent.
- Provide clear and concise reports to supervisors and management on vehicle conditions, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to share knowledge and solve complex mechanical problems.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics as needed.
Parts Management:
- Order, track, and manage inventory of parts and supplies necessary for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper storage of tools and equipment
