Just in time for CVSA International Roadcheck, TravelCenters of America is providing a helping hand to drivers with complimentary midtrip inspections at their TA Truck Service locations.

With the aim of promoting greater road safety on international highways, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance is launching its annual 3-day inspection blitz from May 16th to 18th. Inspection teams will be posted along highways in North America, verifying that commercial vehicles and their drivers are safe and legal. This year, there will be a special emphasis on anti-lock braking systems and cargo securement.

TA Truck Service is encouraging drivers to take advantage of their midtrip inspection service. It can be a preventative measure that could save time, energy and money down the line by spotting issues such as worn brake pads, low tire pressure or fuel system leaks before they become major problems.

Midtrip inspections include these checks:

  • Tires – Ensure proper pressure and tread depth, and spotting damage or wear early
  • Brakes – Test the entire system for performance, functionality, safety, and compliance
  • Fluids – Look for oil, coolant, and other fluid leaks and check for signs of contamination
  • Electrical system– Verify that the battery, alternator, wiring, connectors, lights, and signals are functioning
  • Suspension – Detect any damage or malfunction in the shocks and other suspension components
  • Cargo – Be sure the vehicle’s cargo is secured properly to avoid safety hazards on the road

Get your free midtrip safety inspection before May 15 at participating TA Truck Service locations nationwide. All makes of trucks are welcome to benefit from this special offer and find their nearest location HERE.

Professional drivers should be aware of the signs that their truck may need additional TLC. From curious noises to shaky vibrations, unexpected dips in performance or prominent dashboard warnings – TA Truck Service encourages all motorists on the road to pay close attention and take prompt action when required.
