Brittany Keith’s new children’s book isn’t just a fun read—it’s helping shift gears in how the trucking world is represented to the next generation.

Elly the Electric Truck tells the story of a determined electric semi as she embarks on a big delivery adventure, outrunning fuel-powered vehicles and recharging after a full day’s work. Packed with bold illustrations by Tanya Matiikiv and a strong female lead, the book introduces young readers to electric truck technology while also challenging old-school gender roles.

Keith, a U.S. Navy veteran and third-generation trucking professional, knows the industry inside and out. Her experience spans truck manufacturing, engineering, leadership, and even professional driving—making her uniquely positioned to bring this story to life. The idea for the book came after she noticed the lack of female representation while reading to her young daughter.

Whether you’re behind the wheel or raising the next generation of truck lovers, this book is a reminder that the industry’s story is evolving—and there’s room for everyone in the driver’s seat.

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is once again making a powerful statement about its commitment to the next generation. For the 2025–26 academic year, 62 students with ties to the truckload industry will receive $176,725 in scholarships through the TCA Scholarship Fund.

This milestone is more than numbers—it’s a reflection of TCA’s continued support for education, family, and the future of trucking.

“The TCA Scholarship Fund remains one of the most valuable initiatives offered through TCA membership, providing an opportunity to give back and honor the legacy and future of the truckload industry,” said TCA Scholarship Fund Chairman Joey Hogan of Covenant Logistics. “In the face of economic challenges, we were able to provide over $176,000 in scholarship monies, which reflects TCA’s strong commitment to this important program.”

Supporting Trucking Families Since 1973

Established over five decades ago, the TCA Scholarship Fund has helped thousands of students pursue higher education. All applicants must be in good academic standing and connected to a TCA member company—whether through family, employment, or direct involvement.
