TCA Honors Three Drivers as Highway Angels of the Year

TCA Highway Angel of the year winners

In a historic moment for the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Highway Angels program, not one, but three exceptional drivers have been named the 2024 TCA Highway Angels of the Year, marking the first time in the program’s inception back in 1997. These extraordinary individuals have been celebrated for their courageous and compassionate actions during critical moments while navigating the highways.

Sponsored by EpicVue and Northland Insurance, this year’s winners were announced at the TCA’s annual convention in Nashville, where their remarkable stories were shared with the attendees.

The recipients of the 2024 TCA Highway Angels of the Year title are:

Tony Blunnie from Knight Transportation: Blunnie’s bravery came to the forefront when he rescued a trapped driver from her vehicle just moments before it succumbed to flames following a devastating crash.

Dawna Jacobsen from Erb Transport: In a harrowing incident in Northern Ontario, Canada, Jacobsen acted swiftly to shield a young boy, struck by a vehicle while on a snowmobile, from further harm using her truck.

Terry Reavis from Maverick Transportation LLC: Utilizing his extensive experience as a first responder, Reavis sprang into action, rescuing three children and providing vital assistance to an injured woman following a collision involving an erratic pickup truck and an SUV.

At the awards ceremony, each of these exceptional drivers received a standing ovation, acknowledging their outstanding bravery and selflessness.

Each honoree will be gifted a complimentary EpicVue satellite TV package, comprising a 24-inch flat-screen TV, a DVR, and a one-year subscription to over 100 channels of DIRECTV programming, inclusive of premium channels like HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and the NFL Sunday Ticket.
