National negotiations between the Teamsters Union and TForce Freight began this month in Arlington, Virginia with a few points of consensus already found, as they agree on a few items where neither party is seeking changes. Both parties have also reached a tentative agreement on improvements to road driver lodging. The union’s current contract with TForce is set to expire on July 31.

“We made some minor progress and tried to pluck some of the low-hanging fruit this week,” said Kris Taylor of Teamsters Local 745 in Dallas who has been designated as the lead for the Teamsters negotiating committee.  “We told the company that it cannot avoid addressing our members’ concerns.”

The next scheduled session is set for the week of April 10.
