Peterbilt Motors’ Denton, Texas plant was buzzing with excitement as they celebrated a major milestone – their 100,000th truck rolling off the production line.  The Peterbilt marked the occasion with a special edition package, the Model 389X.

The honor of receiving this iconic truck went to Massey Motor Freight of Nacogdoches, Texas. Troy Massey, the proud owner and founder of the company, was present at the celebration to accept the truck on behalf of his team.

“We are extremely pleased to present the 100,000th Model 389 to Massey Motor Freight,” said Jason Skoog, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “Troy Massey is a longtime Peterbilt customer who recognizes the craftsmanship, performance, and durability of the Model 389 and is the perfect customer to receive this milestone truck.”

Massey Motor Freight, established in 2016 by Troy and Abby Massey, runs a fleet of 325 units. The company is also the proud owner of Tri-State Vacuum & Rental, together owned by the Masseys.

“It is a great honor to receive the 100,000th Model 389 and celebrate this milestone with Peterbilt,” said Troy Massey. “Massey Motor Freight’s long-standing relationship with Peterbilt is based on the common values our companies represent and our commitment to exceed customer expectations.”

Peterbilt’s iconic 389 model will be discontinued later this year, paving the way for its successor, the Model 589. You can now buy the Model 589 from any Peterbilt dealer in North America. The exciting new model is set to go into production in January 2024 at Peterbilt’s Denton factory.
