Redefining the Road, the official magazine of the Women In Trucking Association (WIT), has announced the recipients of the 2023 edition of the Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation.
Brian Everett, the publisher of Redefining the Road, emphasized several notable factors that set apart the recognized companies. These ranged from fostering supportive corporate cultures that promote gender diversity, offering competitive compensation packages, providing flexible work hours, offering prospects for professional growth, and providing opportunities for career advancement.
In addition, companies must meet specified benchmarks in the WIT Index, which monitors the percentage of women in critical roles within the transportation and trucking industry.
According to Redefining the Road, inclusion in this list requires that companies are committed to gender diversity in their corporate strategies.
The selection process involves a thorough two-step procedure. Initial company nominations undergo a rigorous evaluation against minimum qualifications, followed by a final voting stage conducted by industry professionals.
In its sixth iteration this year, the program garnered a record-breaking 27,000 votes to validate and determine the selected companies.
The chosen list represents a diverse array of commercial freight transportation businesses, including motor carriers, third-party logistics firms, and original equipment manufacturers.
