TravelCenters of America Inc. is partnering with Electrify America in a plan to provide electric vehicle charging at select TA/Petro locations, starting as soon as 2023. The company aims to roll out 1,000 individual chargers among 200 highway destinations over the course of five years.
Electrify America will manage the entire process to design and develop the charging stations – obtaining permitting approvals, providing warranty and 24/7 support services, and conducting onsite maintenance. TA will be included on the Electrify America charging network, allowing customers to access and pay for charging through the Electrify America app.
Compatibility of the chargers will extend across nearly all brands and is capable of delivering up to 350kW to EVs – some of the fastest charging speeds commercially available.
