CarriersEdge unveiled the recipients of its 2024 Best Fleets to Drive For awards, acknowledging for-hire carriers that provide outstanding workplace environments for company drivers and independent contractors. The evaluation, based on criteria like driver compensation, benefits, professional growth opportunities, support systems, and safety performance, was conducted after nominations from company drivers or contractors.

K&J Trucking, based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, earned the title of Best Overall Fleet in the small carrier category, marking its inaugural win in this category and its third consecutive appearance in the Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive For list.

In the large carrier category, Challenger Motor Freight of Cambridge, Ontario, claimed the title of Best Overall Fleet for the second time, solidifying its position as a consistent Top 20 honoree for five consecutive years. CarriersEdge CEO Jane Jazrawy praised the dedication and excellence displayed by both winning fleets, emphasizing their commitment to hard work.

“Both companies showed that they’re progressive in developing innovative awards but truly make a difference in their relationships with drivers,” she said. “Their overall winner awards are well deserved.”

Garner Trucking of Findlay, Ohio, was honored with The Stratosphere Award, a new recognition given to the fleet with the highest overall score in the Best Fleets Hall of Fame. To qualify, fleets must have been named a Best Fleet for 10 consecutive years or seven years with at least one overall winner award. Jazrawy highlighted Garner Trucking’s ongoing enhancement of driver programs and their outstanding performance in this year’s evaluation.

The awards ceremony took place during the Best Fleets to Drive For Education & Awards Conference at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in North Carolina, marking the 16th year of this prestigious event.
