Professional drivers traveling through western Massachusetts and the Florida Panhandle now have two additional Pilot travel centers available following the company’s latest expansion. Pilot also completed renovations at 18 existing locations across the United States and Canada, continuing a broader effort to modernize older facilities and expand services for travelers.
The latest projects are part of Pilot’s ongoing New Horizons initiative, which focuses on updating travel centers with improved layouts, additional amenities, and expanded parking capacity.
New Locations Add Truck Parking and Fueling Capacity
Pilot’s newest travel centers are located in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and Ponce de Leon, Florida. Combined, the two locations add 112 truck parking spaces, 15 diesel fueling lanes, and 32 gasoline pumps to the company’s network.
Both locations also feature Pilot’s updated store design and are among the first to include the company’s Pilot Eats food concept.
For truck drivers, the additional parking may be one of the most significant additions. Parking availability remains a concern across many freight corridors, particularly during overnight hours, and new spaces can help ease congestion at nearby travel centers.
Modernization Effort Continues
Alongside the new locations, Pilot completed renovations at 18 travel centers across 13 U.S. states and Canadian provinces.
According to the company, the remodels include updated restrooms, revised store layouts, expanded food service areas, and other improvements intended to modernize facilities that serve both professional drivers and the traveling public.
The upgrades are part of a multi-year investment program that has gradually expanded across Pilot’s network rather than a single round of renovations.
EV Charging Network Expands
Pilot also announced continued growth of its electric vehicle charging network, adding fast-charging stations at 50 locations across 25 states during the first half of 2026.
While the charging network primarily serves passenger electric vehicles, it reflects a broader trend among national travel center operators to expand services as transportation needs continue to evolve.
For commercial drivers, diesel fueling, truck parking, showers, food service, and rest facilities remain the primary services offered throughout Pilot’s network.
Continued Investment in Driver Facilities
Travel centers continue to play an important role in the trucking industry by providing parking, fueling, food, showers, and rest areas that support drivers throughout long trips.
Pilot’s latest expansion reflects continued investment in those facilities through a combination of new construction and renovations. While the announcement includes new food offerings and expanded EV charging, the additions that are likely to have the greatest impact on professional drivers are the increased truck parking capacity and continued modernization of existing travel centers.
