Great Dane Issues Do Not Drive Warning as PACCAR and Volvo Recall Trucks
Share

Great Dane has warned owners not to operate certain 2027 Champion dry van trailers until they repair a potentially faulty coupling assembly. The recall affects 69 trailers and is one of three commercial vehicle recalls reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), alongside separate actions involving PACCAR and Volvo Trucks.

The three recalls cover 384 trucks and trailers, with defects involving trailer coupling, sleeper bunk restraints, and cab structural bolts.

Great Dane Recalls 69 Champion Trailers

Great Dane’s recall involves certain 2027 Champion dry van trailers that may have been manufactured with an incorrect bottom plate in the upper coupler assembly. The defect could allow the kingpin to protrude, preventing the trailer from coupling properly to a truck.

Owners have been instructed not to use the affected trailers until repairs are completed.

Great Dane will inspect the upper coupler assemblies and replace them where necessary at no charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 4, 2026.

Owners can contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493 for additional information.

PACCAR Recalls 310 Peterbilt and Kenworth Trucks

PACCAR is recalling 310 model-year 2027 trucks because the sleeper bunk restraint webbing may not have been properly secured during manufacturing.

The affected vehicles include Peterbilt 567, 579, and 589 models, along with Kenworth T680, T880, W900, and W990 trucks.

Dealers will inspect the bunk restraints and replace them as needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on December 13, 2026.

PACCAR has assigned recall number 26PACH. Owners can contact Kenworth at 1-425-828-5888 or Peterbilt at 1-940-591-4220.

Volvo Recalls Five VNL Trucks Over Cab Bolts

Volvo Trucks North America is recalling five 2025–2026 VNL (4) trucks because structural bolts in the cab may be loose or missing.

Dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and install or tighten the bolts as necessary, free of charge.

Volvo expects to mail owner notification letters on December 14, 2026. The company’s recall number is RVXX2612, and owners can contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 800-528-6586.

Owners can also check their vehicle identification number through the NHTSA recall database to determine whether their truck is included.
