Bessemer, Alabama – Road Master opened a new truck driving school in Bessemer, Alabama four months ago. Brad Ball, the school’s president stated, “We’ve got more students trying to get in the school then we can currently put in school.” He also stated that already over a dozen drivers graduated with job offers. The Bessemer driving school hopes to complete training for 500 new truckers each year, which will help alleviate the national driver shortage.
According to Mark Colson, President & CEO of the Alabama Trucking Association, stated that beginning pay for a new trucker averages $50,000 per year.
