An unresponsive Aristide Garcia, 63, of Los Angeles, California was found on March 8, 2022 by crews on I-65. White County Coroner pronounced him dead on the scene. After completing the autopsy, the coroner ruled his death a homicide. Detectives found that Garcia had been reported missing by his Cedar Rapids, Iowa employer. They located his semi-truck.
Detectives located his co-driver, Miguel Ibarguren, a 44 year-old co-driver from Miami, Florida. Ibarguren was arrested after a multi-state investigation. He is currently being held in an Arlington, Texas jail while he awaits extradition on murder charges.
