Convoy honors fallen New York trucker

A group of truckers paid tribute to one of their own over the weekend, honoring a driver killed while on the job.

Alex “Hillbilly” Bleickhardt, a driver for TowAway, was killed by an alleged drunk driver on September 15. News10 in Albany reported that on Saturday, October 1, a long procession of vehicles, including tow trucks, ambulances, and more, drove through upstate New York to honor Bleickhardt. Drivers from several different companies came out to honor him, traveling down Route 50 flying black and white American flags with a yellow stripe.

“Alex touched so many lives, his stories and memories will always live on with us,” TowAway shared on Facebook last week. “Our condolences to all of Alex’s family going through this incredibly tough time.”
